Morning and welcome to Sunday

Hi there, hope you are all enjoying a nice and lazy Sunday (though I reckon there will be grass cutting going on in many places!). I hope you are all recovered from the celebrations and parties for the Royal Wedding - go on, how many of you have  bought souvenirs of the event and what have you bought? Over here, on TV, you can order a replica of  the engagement ring for $19.99 (plus shipping and handling) - hmmm - wonder  what that's going to look like then.

Last night saw us off out with our pals and neighbours, Sally and Roger, for probably the last time before we head back to the U.K. Sally had found LINGS, a Chinese buffet in Lakeland which is about a 30 minute drive from us. When we arrived we found out it was just down the road (maybe a half mile) from Violette's so maybe it was just as well they would have been shut at that hour!! Turns out that Lings is pretty big inside (almost TARDIS like) as it didn't look that big from the outside! And BUSY!!!!!!!!!!! We got shown right to a table but, within minutes, they were lining up outside! The food was great and the selection was pretty good too (even though I have to avoid dishes containing mushrooms) and we certainly left there stuffed although we didn't even get to try the sushi or hibachi sections. It wasn't all that expensive either - the only drawback was . . .  no draft beer!, but Sally and I were on the water anyway. Afterwards, it was back to ours where we had another round of drinks and the guys chatted and Sally and I were on the internet searching for the "biscuit cake" recipe for Prince William's favourite dessert! YAY we found it - after searching biscuit cake and coming up dry (well, no photos anyway) we searched Prince Williams biscuit cake and found one site who, in response to public demand, posted the photo and recipe so we printed that - wonder if Sally will make it before we leave for the UK! Also showed Sally some fab videos on YouTube as she's in to canvas' right now and has a commission to make a masculine canvas for her son . . . . she went home with a few ideas so we'll just wait and see.

Over on Craft Mad & Loving It a themed challenge is set each Sunday and this week it's Karen's turn to choose the theme. She's come up with WEATHER since the UK appears to be having some nice weather right now. It will be interesting to see what everyone comes up with - it needn't necessarily be a card, so if you fancy having a go then why not pop over and join in?

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • DCWV yellow glitter card edged with a Martha Stewart punch
  • Art Impressions image inked in Memento lilac posies and coloured with a copic marker and sakura stardust clear glitter pen
  • Studiog alphabet inked in Memento lilac posies
  • Faux amber gemstones to finish

Then I decided to have a go at the new challenge over on the ATC challenge blog - the theme was anything goes so this left me wide open to use any of the stash I have here and I'm a big fan (and I know Judie is too) of all things grungy, distressed or Sir Tim-like!

Materials used:
  • Canvas ATC blank
  • Distress Inks: Wild Honey, Barn Door, Fired Brick, Black Soot
  • Hampton Art image inked in Memento tuxedo black
  • Inkadinkado sentiment inked in Memento tuxedo black

Then it was time to have another go at the Less Is More challenge which, this week, features THANK YOU or CONGRATULATIONS. Yesterday I did a Congratulations card so thought it was time to do a thank you card. I also shamelessly "stole" a simply brilliant idea from one of my fellow LIM-ettes, so I didn't really think I could enter that in to the challenge but I will be submitting this one
Materials used:
  • White C6 card and envelope
  • Michaels dollar stamp blooms image inked in Memento lilac posies
  • Inkadinkado sentiment inked in Memento grape jelly
  • Crystal stickles to highlight
And here's the "shamelessly" stolen card! Isn't it a great idea? It's been pointed out that I shamelessly stole this idea from Mandi so, thanks Mandi
Materials used:
  • White C6 card and envelope
  • STIX2 double sided tape
  • Purple glitter (from a multi pack) and Gold Glamour Dust
  • Clearly Wordsworth image inked in Memento grape jelly and cut out, corners rounded and edged in grape jelly
  • White card panel, corners rounded and run through my Xyron sticker maker and glamour dust applied

Have a fabulous Sunday, whatever you have lined up

You manage to get out, enjoy fab food and still have time to craft? Great makes Kathy, I particularly like the ATC and thankyou card.
I wonder how much new stash will be staying and how much will be coming home? Did you take a spare bag with you?
