Morning and welcome to Sunday morning

Morning all,

Here we are at Sunday morning again. An hour ago the sun was shining ..... and now? DULL AND GREY  - AGAIN!!! Hubby has gone to the field to play Biggles but isn't overly confident that he'll be there till his normal time, but hey - we've been wrong about the weather before!

Today's challenge over on craftbubble's Craft Mad and Loving It group has been set once more by Debs as a Guest Design Team Member and she has opted to instruct us to use up our scraps!! Well, I don't know about you but I sure have loads of those so it'll be a tough decision about how many and which scraps to use!

Well I made a decision and you would just KNOW it might involve PURPLE, wouldn't you? I can assure you that no new pieces of card were broken in to in order to make this card. I actually had the piece of purple card already embossed - from an experiment with a plastic masking sheet that I tried through my big shot whilst watching the Imagination special on QVC ....... it worked, though not ever so well. I'm not sure the embossed circles will show up terribly well in this photo but, trust me, they're there!!! SO, I'm entering this card in to the "use up your scraps" challenge on CMLI and also the "button/s and/or ribbon/s"" over on the Simply Less Is More challenge blog - wish me luck - not that there's a prize but hey .....

Materials used:
  • 12.5cm square white 300gsm scallop edged card and envelope
  • 11.7cm panel of embossed purple card with the corners rounded
  • 5cm punched and ribbed circle of lime card
  • The end off a roll of lime grosgrain self adhesive ribbon
  • Purple button
  • Narrow lime satin ribbon threaded through the button holes and knotted
  • Lavinia Poppy head image inked in Memento tuxedo black on to white card and corners rounded
  • Black card panel with corners rounded in order to mat the image on to

Hope you like it - look forward to reading your opinions

Last evening saw us out to dinner with friends, Liz and Graeme - can hardly believe that this was our last opportunity for quite a while due to one reason or another - seems like so far away and yet it will be here before we know it. We trekked to Thornbury for our evening out - to the splendid Thai Basil restaurant and it was, splendid that is! We opted for the "Special" menu as it gave us the chance to try several different dishes. Our starter consisted of four each of five starters, then the crispy duck (mmmmmm) followed by three main course dishes plus rice (one prawn, one beef and one chicken) all super yummy and then there was a fresh fruit salad to finish ........ needless to say, we rolled out of there! Oddly enough (and this doesn't happen often in Thornbury or anywhere else for that matter) we were able to park less than 50 yards from the restaurant so missed out on the opportunity to work off any of those pesky calories! As the designated drivers it had fallen to Liz and I to drink ......... water!!! so, a few calories saved there then!

If it doesn't rain later then we have yet another exciting day planned ......... hedge trimming. Yesterday's labours got this far! Still took two hours though!

Happy Sunday - hope the weather's nicer where you are!
