and it's not long till the weekend!! YAY!

Still no sign of the arrival of surrogate grandchild despite surrogate daughters due date being the 5th!! Bet she's getting fed up of waiting now!! I know she was fine yesterday around lunchtime as I spoke with REAL MUM early yesterday afternoon and there was no news then!

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and last night hubby took me to a local pub/restaurant in order to celebrate. Apparently Wednesday is GRILL night - well, seemed churlish not to! We set off with the best of intentions (ie. to have a pud each or at least one between us) but failed dismally! Hubby enjoyed his surf and turf and my 8oz rump was very tasty too. We came home replete and cracked a bottle of bubbly we couldn't finish so there's a little drop left for tomorrow - oopsie! HIC!

So, this morning started perhaps a little more sluggishly than normal!

Here's what I was working on yesterday - boy those glossy accents - I USED to complain about how long they took to dry ...... right up until I discovered that the gloss gel medium beats the products drying time, HANDS DOWN!!! Anyway, the card I want to share today is for two challenges:
  1. Auntys Forum - where the theme is refreshment and
  2. CASology where the one word inspiration for week five is POND

Materials used:
  • 14½ cm square, 300 gsm scallop edged white card and matching envelope
  • Sparkle 'n Sprinkle "MAX" image inked using Memento tuxedo black on to white card, close trimmed and corners rounded
  • Light blue card and deeper blue card matting panels with corners rounded
  • X-Cut corner rounder
  • Sentiments by INKAHOOTZ (honestly!, they're based in Phoenix, Arizona but I couldn't find a website) both inked using Memento tuxedo black
  • Three blue faux crystal gemstones to embellish
  • Alcohol markers to colour "Max"
  • Glossy Accents for the glass and shine on the olive

The deeper blue card was matted (with white card) on the inside and the same sentiment stamps + Max (small), to co-ordinate and the small "Max" and sentiments also embellished the envelope. I knew lots of people would be using frogs so thought I would use this cheeky interpretation to be a little different - after all, frogs definitely come from PONDS, don't they?

It's time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday too and their challenge is "TAG, you're it"! I'm off to look at my stash with a view to an entry later - wish me luck!

Happy Thursday and to all my lovely friends who sent good wishes and/or cards for our anniversary - THANK YOU SO MUCH, we both really appreciated it.

Morning Your Purpleness. Glad to hear a good time was had by all yesterday. It's always nice to have a glass of fizz left for another day I find. Sort of prolongs the celebration...hic!

The lovely Max is one of my fave S&S images and he looks fab.
