Thundery Sunday!

Well how great is this (NOT!), it's the weekend of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta and we've woken to mist, rain and now THUNDER and hail stones! FABULOUS - I bet those poor balloonists have felt like packing up and going home. The weather conditions were a bit dodgy yesterday morning too and only 17 made it off the ground, which is such a shame as the organisers put so much effort in to making Ashton Court a great place to be this weekend. We have one chance left as there's a mass ascent planned for 6pm - please keep your fingers crossed.

I'd like to welcome new follower, Meadie, welcome - here's hoping you'll pop back from time to time too.

One can only hope that this weather means I can craft once more, without guilt! Yesterday I made a challenge card, an ATC and started working on a journal page for the new sketch book acquired on Friday from Hobbycraft for the hard fought bargain price of £1.99!! Here's how the first layer turned out ....

Materials used:
  • Dylusions inks in Vibrant Turquoise, Bubblegum Pink and Sunshine Yellow
  • Dylusions stencil
  • Water mister
  • Kitchen roll

A little later in the day I went back to it and added some stamping ....

Materials used:
  • TCW stencil (harlequin)
  • Dylusions random spot image and Brilliance white ink
  • Dimensions brick wall image inked in Memento rhubarb stalk
  • Memento Tuxedo black applied using an old credit card - for some lines in the corners
  • Inkadinkado wax drip inked with Brilliance rust
  • Inkadinkado ink blot applied using Brilliance crimson
  • Paper Artsy image inked in Memento tuxedo black on to white card, coloured using ink leftover on an applicator (just to dull down the brightness of the white card) and cut out

I'm liking it so far but it's plainly not finished but I'm resting my "leetle grey cells" until I can think what to do next - it plainly needs more decoration and colour (!?) and some journaling maybe a larger image to give it focus.

Pan Pastels blog has a new challenge and this week's theme is to "Creat a scene" with sme fab examples by their design team. I MIGHT have a go at that though I wasn't overly successful at my last attempt - at The Treasury in Kidderminster!

Hope you have a great Sunday, whatever's scheduled for you
