Welcome to August!

First of August - pinch, punch, first of the month and no returns!!! Why DID we used to say that on the first of each month? Or WAS is just me?!?!?!

Last night saw us out to dinner with our pal and neighbour, Debbie, and we nipped down to our favourite local Indian restaurant where we're all pretty well known. Naturally, they looked after us well and we had a great meal. Normally we adjourn home to one house or another, for a glass of something and more chat but hubby wasn't at his best and decided to turn in good and early - must've worked as he feels better this morning.

Anyway, been up and crafting this morning and got a few things to share with you. As my regular readers will know, this week I have been slightly (OK, more than slightly!) obsessed with the sketch over on the Simply Less Is More blog and have made a number of cards for this challenge. I was very taken with the Old French script/central image "thang" and most of the cards went along those lines. Bad news is that I wasn't quite ready to give it up either!!! So I moved on to ATC's this morning
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Hero Arts Old French Script inked in Memento London fog
  • Clearly Yours rose and Hero Arts sentiment inked in Memento tuxedo black
  • Kaisercraft glittered droplets placed along stem

And then on to an old favourite ...... my pan pastels
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Hero Arts Old French Script inked using versamark
  • Violet pan pastel applied all over the ATC and set using hairspray
  • Clearly Yours rose image inked using Brilliance moonlight white and then iridescent pink cosmic shimmer mica powder dusted over - sadly doesn't show so well in the photo
  • Hero Arts sentiment inked in Memento tuxedo black
Then I figured it was time to move on (and then some!) so I decided to enter this next project for two August challenges, the first being "Things that make you smile" (who doesn't smile at kids sloshing in puddles - when they're not YOUR kids!!!) and "In the rain"

Materials used:
  • 14cm square 300 gsm scallop edged white card and matching envelope
  • Holographic blue circle and slightly smaller white circle
  • Sugar Nellie image inked in Memento tuxedo black
  • Alcohol markers to colour
  • Sparkle 'n Sprinkle sentiment inked in Memento tuxedo black and raindrops inked in Memento blue on to white card and cut out in to banner form before matting on to an offcut of the holographic blue
  • Glossy accents on the boots and puddle
And here's a bit of a close up so you can see the glossy accents

Right, that's me done for the day, I'm off for a shower.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday
