Saturday challenge day - the first of the New Year

Hi there,

What a dull old day to wake up to this morning? Mild .... but dull. It's 8:30 as I type this and, without the light on, it's still dark!! So much for the nights drawing out - we've not noticed any improvement at all yet!

Is it just me or is blogger still having an epi? Every time I go to upload a pic I don't get the BROWSE option? I've been uploading in to another forum and then copying and pasting - tedious ..... but it works! Hope blogger fix their issues very soon!

My regular readers will know that I offer a prize for Friday Funny's which I use and so, at the end of 2012 I drew a name using the random number generator and Liz's name came out ..... here's the giftie

The decorated wrap, flattened but ready to roll!
Hope Liz will like the gift - she's a stylish soul so I'm hoping she'll approve of the image
Materials used:
  • IKEA brown parcel paper (£1.95 for an 8m roll)
  • Kraft card die cut tag
  • Go Kreate tag die
  • Versafine onyx black ink
  • Sparkle 'n Sprinkle art deco image (foam mounted)
  • Black and white bakers twine
Today is the first challenge Saturday in 2013 and a couple of new challenges have been launched ....
Over on the Craftbubble Group Craft Mad and Loving It, a new challenge has been set by Debs  and it is "NOUGHT AND CROSSES", on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog there is a sketch theme (see below) another new challenge over on the Simply Less Is More blog is: "BLACK and WHITE" with their added instructions of: with a touch or a splash, a hint or suggestion, a dab or a patch of a colour of your choice! The idea being that the black and white are predominant and the added colour is subtle and finally, there's another sketch challenge over on the Sparkle 'n Sprinkle blog too (See the bottom sketch)
52CCT sketch - they also have a Design Team Slot available - interested?

The Sparkle 'n Sprinkle sketch for January 2013
Anyway, here's my first challenge card of the day - given that it's black and white - you will know that it's for the Simply Less Is More challenge!

Materials used:
  • 14½ cm square, white, 300 gsm scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • Judikins 2379H image stamped using Versafine onyx black ink on to a white card panel
  • Black card panel
  • Gold satin ribbon wrapped round the black card panel and tied in a knot
  • Faux crystal gemstones (clear but coloured gold using a pro marker) to highlight
  • Imagine That sentiment inked directly on to base card using Versafine onyx black

I MAY be back with a second post today - depending on how I get on with the above challenges!

Have a great weekend all
