Tuesday morning - is it dull and grey with you too?

Hi folks,

I don't know about you crafters but I always struggle with designs for men! HOWEVER, I was recently lucky enough to win the fab image below as part of a giant package of blog candy offered by the lovely Brenda Brown (THANK YOU Brenda) and thought I would give it a go .....

Materials used:
  • 12½ cm square white, 250 gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • 12 cm square of black card
  • 11½ cm square of patterned paper from the Papermania "liquorice" stack
  • 10½ x 7 cm panel of black card
  • Tim Holtz car stamped on to a 10 x 6½ cm panel of white card using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Papermania sentiment inked using Versafine onyx black  - aligned with stripes once image panel had been attached to base card.
This would be a perfect card for a monochrome themed challenge but the only two I found were I Love Pro Markers (ineligible as there was NO colouring at all) and the Simply Less Is More and again, this is ineligible as there's nowhere near enough "white space" for those LIMettes, Chrissie, Mandi and Jen!! Oopsie - well, sometimes it's good to make a card just because you want to make a card - don't you think?

Following my recent obsession with turning IKEA brown paper in to personalised wrapping paper - here's another one to share with you - bet you'll never guess who it might be for?!?!?!

Materials used:
  • IKEA brown paper (a roll of 8m for £1.95)
  • Ranger archival jet black ink
  • Clear images by TPC Studio - repeated not quite regularly but not quite randomly either!
  • Stampendous sentiment

These gifts are to end up inside another box as part of a larger gift so the outside wrap will be a little more ornate and will have ribbon/twine as well as a matching gift tag - but I'm not done shopping yet!!!

Anyway - hope you like the above card and have a great day

Great what you've done with your car image too. Cool card for a bloke methinks. I'm sure Brenda will be thrilled to bits to see you putting her blog candy to such good use.

What a great man card, that really is a great car image. I think monochrome works so well when we need to make a blokey card.

Glad you liked the stamp Kathy and are getting some use out of it, we all seem to find men's cards so difficult, and a man'e wrapping paper too. Definitely for Mr K. Great job.
