Welcome to Wednesday - another dull, grey day - and chilly too!

Morning,

Yesterday saw both hubby and I in Gloucester for part of the day - doing mundane things like fitting a blind and shower rail! We had to control our excitement as I'm sure you can imagine! What sustained us, however, was the knowledge that we were out for a curry last evening! Our pal has returned from her travels and we often share a curry with her so it was off to the lovely Raj's for us - mmmmmm. Afterwards it was back to hers ..... for a belated New Years glass of bubbly (or three or four!) Thank heavens it wasn't another early start for us this morning as neither of us were keen!

Well over on the CASology blog there was a new challenge yesterday - the one word theme this week is "WINTER" - well, it's NEVER too early to start preparations for Christmas 2013 so .....

Materials used:
  • 300 gsm white, deckle edged C6 card and matching sized envelope
  • Studiog image stamped on to 4½ cm square of white card using Memento Mediterranean blue
  • 5 cm square of dark blue ribbed card and 5½ cm square of silver mirri card, for matting
  • Hero Arts sentiment stamped directly on to base card using Memento Paris dusk ink

And for the decoration on the reverse of the card and the envelope:
  • Penny Black circular sentiment inked using Memento tuxedo black
  • Penny Black holly image inked using Memento bamboo leaves and magenta marvey le plume II pen

There's also a challenge to make a "CELEBRATION" card over on the Craftbubble group Monthly Craft Challenge

Materials used:
  • 300 gsm white, deckle edged C6 card and matching sized envelope
  • Blue and white check ribbon
  • 9½ x 6 cm panel of orange card
  • 9 x 5½ cm panel of white card edged with Memento Mediterranean blue
  • Inkadinkado party image inked using Memento Mediterranean blue on the white panel
  • Imagine That sentiment stamped using Memento tangelo ink
What do you reckon? Does it need gemstones?

And finally - it IS What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday and mine is such a mess that I felt I could only share the view!! You can see one of my few forays in to glass painting on the patio door - placed primarily to stop birds flying in to the window!! Mostly it works though the one on the other part of the door became brittle and fell apart (after 20 years, not too much of a surprise) and we HAVE had a couple fly in to this section.

Happy Wednesday

Morning Kathy. Some great cards to feast our eyes upon there. I don't think your card needs a gemstone. It's great as it is. Love that colour combo too.

Good for you with a Christmas card, I just couldn't. Hope the birdies fly away from the window.

Three great challenges done and dusted, Kathy! And not to forget the fitting! You've been very productive.

Great idea to make a 2013 Christmas card for CASology! I might use that one myself. Great view on your WOYWW today. (Hmmm. Apparently my the vocabulary department in my head is having a sale on "great" today!)

I hate it when the birds fly into the window; thankfully it's very, very rare. Chow xo

Such pretty blues combined with silver...gorgeous wintry color combination! I love your card, perfect for the CASology challenge this week. (Funny about the birds...I think I have actually walked through a few screen doors like that as a child...I feel the birds' pain!)
