Morning and welcome to the weekend, again!

Morning all

Regular readers know that Saturdays are mostly challenge days for me (in amidst the hum drum existence that involves laundry and housework ....... did I ever mention how much I hate housework?!?!? I use the challenges to take my mind off it and stay sane (arguably, it's not working then!!!)

There's a new challenge over on the Simply Less Is More blog - check it out! This week's theme is: "USE BEADS" .... now this was a tough one - CAS but with BEADS! YIKES! Ended up going a bit grungy but using bright colours ....... this fab image saw ink for the first time since purchasing recently at Snazzy's in Swindon!

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 300 gsm scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • White card panel coloured by swiping distress inks in squeezed lemonade and peacock feathers
  • Kaisercraft "Graffiti" image stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Basics gloss gel medium swiped over sections of the coloured panel using a plastic spatula (from Dunelm Mill)
  • Small diameter clear glass beads trickled over the gloss medium and set aside to dry - boy, those pesky beads get EVERYWHERE, don't they?!?!?!??!
  • Silver mirri card for matting

Hope you like it and think it still meets CAS requirements - I'm hoping it will still classify as "standard" mailing rate too! I've left the sentiment off, for the time being, as I could see this card suiting several occasions so keeping my options open!!!

And here's a side view close up of the mini glass beads
Other challenges I like to enter this weekend are:

Addicted to CAS have launched their new challenge today too, I didn't get to enter their last challenge but will try for this one! Their one word inspiration this fortnight is: "SPRING"

And the challenge over on the Pink Gem challenge blog is: "ON THE MOVE"

52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown's new challenge is to make a Christmas card using "RIBBONS AND BOWS"

So, that little lot should keep me busy today and ,,,,,, Don't forget you still have a week to enter the "EASTER" challenge over on the Hobbycutz blog too and please remember that you don't HAVE to use Hobbycutz products in order to enter but there are additional prizes up for grabs if you do!

Happy Saturday

Love the card - it is always interesting to see what others do with stamps you own yourself. I used that same stamp last year for my grandson's 18th birthday, together with text, some gears, an Adult ticket and a dog tag - but the graffiti stamp was the base of it all. You have used it in an entirely different way - very effectively!
