Saturday morning - are you ready for this?!?!?

Morning all,

Welcome to the weekend - is it wet and windy with you too?

Saturday's are challenge day but first, a challenge that I set myself!!! Yesterday my fab new PaperArtsy JOFY images arrived and I could NOT wait to play with them. My first attempt was okay but not without flaws so I set myself the challenge to have another go and to be happier with the result - check it out, bearing in mind this is just a panel for a card and NOT a finished card.

Materials used:
  • 14cm square of 220gsm card - from Rymans
  • Dylusions inks: turquoise, lemon zest and bubblegum pink, spritzed in to the card and then mopped with paper towel
  • TCW mini harlequin stencil placed over panel, spritzed with water and left a few moments to develop before mopping with paper towel (sadly, doesn't show ever so well in the photo but, trust me, it was there - you can see it best around the black sentiment and on the close up below)
  • Paper Artsy JOFY images stamped using Ranger Archival ink and heat set.
  • Small amounts of each of the Dylusions inks spritzed on to a craft mat and then gloss gel medium added, to allow my "watercolouring" to dry to a sheen
  • Paper Artsy JOFY sentiment inked once in Ranger Archival jet black and four times using Memento London fog
And here's a close up - you just might be able to see the effect of the gloss gel medium and the water spritzed stencilling - if you screw your eyes up and close one of them!!!! OK so it hasn't shown up quite as well as I might have liked but ...

Hope you like it - here's how it turned out when mounted on a layer of black card and placed on to a 20cm scallop edged card.

My regular readers will no doubt recall that I exchange ATC materials with a buddy on the Isle of Skye? Well, her latest package arrived yesterday and here are my challenge materials.

Got any ideas? see below .....
And here's how it turned out ...
Additional materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Distress Inks: forest moss, evergreen bough, tea dye
  • Inkadinkado clear map of the world image stamped on to white card using Versafine black ink, inked with my blending tool, cut out and then distressed with a Tim Holtz distressing tool
  • Fiskars vacation sentiment stamped on to white card and cut out before applying distress ink using my blending tool (without re-inking)
Now all I have to do is think of an ATC (and duplicate materials) to return to Pam with this ATC!!!
And of course, there is a new Clean And Simple Challenge over on the Simply Less Is More blog - see it here. This weeks challenge is number 111! Astonishing to think that the ladies who run this challenge keep coming up with such splendid Clean And Simple challenges week after week. The theme? It's "FRAME IT" .... and here is my framed card ...

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, scallop edged 300 gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • 7 x 10½cm bright pink card panel  and 13½cm square pink panel for insert
  • Frame of black card 6½ x 9½ and 1cm wide
  • White card panels 6 x 9 and 13cm square for insert
  • JOFY image stamped on to small white panel, large white panel and the envelope, using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Dylusions bubblegum pink and turquoise spritzed on to a blending mat and used as a watercolour
  • Imagine That Sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
Don't forget, too, that you STILL have nearly four hours to enter the Hobbycutz "ANYTHING GOES" challenge and blog hop and have the cahnce to win prizes .... see it here

There's a new challenge due today over at Addicted to CAS too - but the time difference means it's not been posted yet.

Happy Saturday everyone - hope you are all in tip top form - or getting there if you've been less than!!

Love those JOFY stamps and your projects are fabulous. I've never tried mixing gloss medium with ink, must try that because the result looks great. The mini on the CAS card is really good.

Those JOFY stamps really are splendid aren't they and you've put them to good use. Fabulous card with all those lush inks.

Love your ATC, that's a great camera image.

Great LIM card, and the smaller JOFY image is just perfect to be framed this way.
