Sunday and a new challenge starts today

Morning

A new challenge has started today over on the Hobbycutz blog and I'm happy to be a part of this.

Kobie is the Owner and Designer of Hobbycutz Lasercutting & Designs and this is her story.

I grew up in a Crafty family, with a very creative Gran, Mum and even Dad...he was always into woodworking....
I acquired a laser cutter early December last year after having my second child, which made it nearly impossible to return to work because of expensive child care, so I had to look for something I can do from home.
It was the biggest learning curve of my life and never really realised what I was getting myself into until the machine arrived.
But anyway not going to bore you with the rest, I am here and we will have to see what the future holds.....

So to celebrate the launch of Kobie's new adventure we are having a blog hop and you have 2 weeks to join in the fun and try and win some prizes.

So I hope you have arrived here from Natali's blog

If not please go back to the Hobbycutz challenge blog and start the Hop there as You need to collect a letter from most members.

The rules of the hop are as follow:

1. Leave a comment on each of the DT posts as you hop, this is a must to qualify for the prize.
2. Collect the letters from the Design Team's blogs and email Kobie at: hobbycutz@gmail.com with the word they spell ( p.s. they are mixed up and not everyone has one)
3. Leave a comment on the Challenge blog letting us know which design from the Hobbycutz range that you like best
4. Display our badge in your blog's side bar to spread the word.
The winner of the hop will receive a £15 Voucher to spend on the Hobbycutz website and two runner ups will receive each a £5.00 voucher to spend on the Hobbycutz website.

Not only can you do the hop and win a prize .. but we also have First Challenge running which is:

ANYTHING GOES

The prize for the overall challenge which will be picked by the Random thingy will be a £10 Voucher to spend on the Hobbycutz website, and Kobie will also give away a £5.00 Voucher every challenge for a Random winner when using a 'HOBBYCUTZ' product.

Thank You for taking time to visit my blog. My Letter is "R", so please hop on now to ..... The Cook's blog

And my Design Team piece for this challenge is below - I hope you like it and that it may inspire you to enter this challenge - GOOD LUCK

Materials used:

  • Hobbycutz die cuts:  S0031 x2 and S0052 x2
  • Pan pastel (permanent red) applied using a cosmetic sponge
  • Lustre mod podge applied to die cuts to both seal and shine
  • White satin ribbon between layers to form a hanging loop and to thread through my paper bead
  • Bead made using a 12" length of paper, tapered from 2.5cm to .25cm and rolled round a cocktail stick, glue-ing the end with Aleene's tacky glue
  • Once the base layer of mod podge was dry I then coated the whole piece in another layer, liberally sprinkling Crystal glamour dust to give a splendid sparkle - BINGO - a Christmas decoration all ready for 2013!!

Now all I have to do is put it somewhere safe .... but not SO safe I can't find it again come December!

Here's how it looked at the half way stage ....

I made the bead from paper ..... here's how it started life

Happy Sunday - have a good one!

Well it wont let me leave a comment on your CRAFTATHON page!
So here it is...
Loving the photos, can't believe how much stash there was and what great activities you all took part in. Loved the pic of Wynneth and Sir Andy, so lovely. You must have all had such a blast. Even though I've only actually met you and Wynneth, looking at these photos was like looking at an old class photo -just like I knew you all (remember you all from the CB days). How time does fly.
So glad you had the best time ever. Here's to the next one ;)
