Wotcher peeps,
The purple princess is away from her desk this morning - out shopping with pal Sally so this post has been scheduled - unless blogger has an epi and decides NOT to!!! It's going to be a little picture heavy so you might want to grab a coffee or tea and maybe a biskwit! (remember the Fox's advert with the cuddly animal? NO? See it here)
Yesterday, we were staying in as we were expecting the A/C repair guy to come and fit a part so we caught up on a few chores including some spring cleaning - which involved taking things off the plant shelves and one of us cleaning them whilst the other vacuumed the shelves themselves - all VERY industrious but DULL DULL DULL!!! Done now though and one less thing to have to worry about. The part arrived about 15:00 (direct from the supplier) and the contractor arrived to fit the part about 90 minutes later.
Now, surrogate daughter #1 turns 40 this year and her partner 60 so they're having a joint "Centenary Party"!!! And our invitation arrived in the mail yesterday, it was a lovely invitation with a photo of the happy couple on and they had obviously taken the time to think it out and have it professionally printed so, the least I could do was to make a nice "thank you we'd love to come" card .....
Materials used:
  • 12.5cm square white, 250 gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • White card panel very slightly larger than the image, swiped with Distress Inks in weathered wood and fired brick
  • Hero Arts cityscape image stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • White card and black card for matting - both edged using a Fiskars dot and scallop edging punch
  • TPC Studio sentiment stamped directly on to base card using Memento tuxedo black
And the insert .... using the same stamps and inks
I also thought it was time I shrunk a few pix to post on here so, whilst I was hanging around waiting for A/C guy - I did just that - and here they are. Whilst we were out for a drive recently we ended up in Lakeland - after a foray round Violettes (and some impromptu stash acquisition) we drove round some of the local lakes. It quickly becomes obvious why they called it LAKEland!!! It was one of the cooler days so we parked up and took a walk about a third of the way round the lake (so, not THAT cool then?!?!?!) - here are some of the sights we caught ..
Guess it's breeding season for these protected swans

One swan a swimming!!!
Is it just me or did you all start singing the Twelve Days of Christmas too?
So? Not a real swan huh?

D'you reckon he/she just washed her hair?

Gone Fishin'
And now for my work desk ...... oh boy, messy .... AGAIN!!! Not so much a desk as ... abandoned craft materials!
Have a great Wednesday, hope I've not exhausted you with the pix - think of me ...... shopping!! And lunching!, it's a hard life!

Those craft materials don't look abandoned to me, they look as if you are just ready to pack them in the box to bring home. Love Lakeland, and your thank you card too.
Enjoy the shopping etc.!
