Sunday morning and time for Hobbycutz challenge #11

Morning all,

It's time for another challenge over on the Hobbycutz challenge blog - this week it is challenge #11 and the turn of my fellow teamie Kim to select her theme of SUMMER. Here's my card for the challenge, using a digital image from digistamps4joy ...

Materials used:

  • 15cm square white, 300 gsm, scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • 14 cm square Kraft card panel
  • 13½cm square yellow card panel with a large oval die cut removed from the centre (die was by Go Kreate) to reveal the image behind.
  • Yellow card panel run through my big shot in a Tim Holtz sunburst embossing folder
  • A digi image from this week's sponsor, the image is named Sally Sunshine so, naturally, she's in sunshine colours!
  • Alcohol markers to colour (Spectrum noir "Yellows" and "Browns")
  • Hobbycutz die border left "au naturelle"

Hope you like it and feel you would like to enter this challenge. The Hobbycutz challenges run for two weeks.

This challenge is being sponsored by digistamps4joy and Limited Run

Don't forget that you do not have to use a Hobbycutz die in order to enter this challenge it's just that there are additional prizes available for those who do.

The card above is also going to be entered in to the current challenge on the pan pastels blog where their challenge is also "SUMMERTIME" and also over on the Crafting Café where their current challenge is SUMMER'S HERE.

I also made another card which is going to fit several challenges ....

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 300 gsm, scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • 14cm square Kraft card panel
  • 13½cm square white card panel
  • Post its to mask of panel on white card
  • Distress Ink - tea dye swiped across masked off panel
  • Crop-a-dile big bite used to punch holes in my card and to set the bronze metal eyelets
  • Twine (too thick originally so I split the four strands in to two) threaded through the holes and tied in a knot
  • Four large and two small retro flowers punched from canvas and coloured using alcohol markers before layering and then forming in to shape with my trusty pokey tool!
  • GLITTER brads for the centre of my flowers - they're a lush choccie brown but don't really show up in the piccie, sadly
  • Hero Arts foliage image stamped using Memento pear tart (nearest I had to summer starfruit)

Challenges entered:
  1. LIM - Hand made flowers
  2. Addicted to CAS - GLITTER
  3. Craftbubble's Craft Mad & Loving It group monthly challenge - NATURAL (you have to be a craftbubble AND group member to enter this challenge)
  4. CAS colour and sketch - colour challenge - I had to use kraft card and tea dye ink with pear tart to get as close to these colours - here's hoping the peeps on the design team won't think them TOO FAR off.

Have a great Sunday everyone .... on the weather front, I hardly dare say it out loud but it's soooo much cooler today and I am DELIGHTED!!!! I may even get my mountain of ironing (built up because I couldn't face it in the hot weather) done and put away today!!! Perhaps I should have a little LIE DOWN first as I don't normally do ironing voluntarily!
