Welcome to Friday - the weekend really starts .............. HERE!

Morning folks,
Busy old week for me this week with all sorts of "stuff" going on - car service and MOT (it passed, thank heavens) - lots of little trips too. This very morning I'm off out to meet up with a pal for coffee and a catch up.
Yesterday afternoon saw me heading off to Swindon (Wiltshire) to the McArthur Glen outlet village, where I snagged CHOCOLATE .... for my other half - HONEST!!!!!!!!!!!! And then it was across to Snazzy's for a chat with Val about a workshop we're planning later in the year. I wanted to take some photos of projects so my fellow attendees would have a better idea of what's on offer - maybe there IS such a thing as too much choice!
Anyhoo, whilst I was there I simply HAD to do a little light retail therapy, foolish not to having made the 90 mile round trip!
Who doesn't love new stash!?!?!?
Not a lot to show on the crafting front because it's been a busy old week. I have been working on week six of the "It's The Little Things" project but really, it's hardly worth sharing a photo of my papier mache box with two coats of gesso on! I think most of you can imagine what that looks like! I may include it once I have something else to share too, but it's hardly photoworthy on its own! As for the half baked project using the fab water droplets image (by Ryn) well, that hasn't moved at all. My craft desk has only seen me for gesso-ing since Wednesday morning! Ooopsie, I shall be feeling craft starved soon - major crafting might be required this afternoon! At least I'm happy that I have nice things to go INSIDE my gesso'd box!
You can see the base of the box, before I got the gesso out.
I hope it will soon look a great deal more interesting!!!
The end of an era yesterday and today ... yesterday saw the demise of the Auntys forum after seven years - my thanks to Sally and Rich who ran it and to all the lovely souls who made a space for me there. Today sees an end to the Craftbubble forum, a friend for 4½ years. Even as the ship sinks there's some unpleasantness going on over there! SUCH a pity?, maybe it IS a good job the forum is closing! I made a lot of good friends back when it was a lovely place to be, some of whom I have been lucky enough to meet IRL and now count as friends for life and for that, THANK YOU CRAFT BUBBLE.
Now, time to share the Friday Funny, this week courtesy of Pat - thanks Pat!
Another e-mail this week, entitled "CINDERELLA" .............
Cinderella is now 95 years old.
After a fulfilling life with the now dead prince,
She happily sits upon her rocking chair,
Watching the world go by from her front porch,
With a cat named Bob for companionship.
One sunny afternoon out of nowhere,
Appeared the fairy godmother.
Cinderella said,
"Fairy Godmother,
What are you doing here after all these years?"
The fairy godmother replied, "Cinderella,
You have lived an exemplary life since I last saw you.
Is there anything for which your heart still yearns?"
Cinderella was taken aback, overjoyed,
And after some thoughtful consideration,
She uttered her first wish:
"The prince was wonderful, but not much of an investor.
I'm living hand to mouth on my disability checks,
And I wish I were wealthy beyond comprehension."
Instantly her rocking chair turned into solid gold.
Cinderella said,
"Ooh, thank you, Fairy Godmother"
The fairy godmother replied,
"It is the least that I can do.
What do you want for your second wish?"
Cinderella looked down at her frail body,
And said,
"I wish I were young and full of the
Beauty and youth I once had."
At once, her wish became reality,
And her beautiful young visage returned.
Cinderella felt stirrings inside of her
That had been dormant for years.
And then the fairy godmother spoke once more:
"You have one more wish;
What shall it be?"
Cinderella looks over to the frightened cat
In the corner and says:
"I wish for you to transform Bob, my old cat,
Into a kind, and handsome, young man."
Bob suddenly underwent so fundamental
A change in his biological make-up,
That when he stood before her,
He was a man so beautiful,
The likes of him neither she,
Nor the world, had ever seen.
The fairy godmother said,
"Congratulations, Cinderella,
Enjoy your new life."
And with a blazing shock of bright blue electricity,
The fairy godmother was gone
As suddenly as she appeared.
For a few eerie moments, Bob and Cinderella
Looked into each others eyes.
Cinderella sat, breathless, gazing at the most beautiful,
Stunningly perfect man, she had ever seen.
Then Bob walked over to Cinderella,
Who sat transfixed in her rocking chair,
& held her close in his young muscular arms.
He leaned in close,
Blowing her golden hair with his warm breath,
As he whispered ...
"Bet you're sorry you had me neutered"
And I bet she was too!!!
Have a fab Friday and a great weekend.

Wahoo . . . the car passed Oh Ye of Little Faith!

Great laugh at the FF Kathy, good one. So not much crafting done, but fab new supplies. I am off to snazzys next weekend for their Finnibair workshop, as long as she is better and can make it. Enjoy the bank holiday.

Yes, such a shame that CB has closed, but at least you and I were in it from the start and are unlikely to have met without it - big thanks CB from me too for allowing me to meet a lovely pall for life.

Nice new stash there missus, thank for your selfless trip to snazzys to sort out our next workshop ! Looking forward to it.
