Sunday and the end of a very CRAFT-Y weekend

Hello everyone,
Sorry that this is a late posting from me but if you checked my blog yesterday then you will know that I have had company this weekend. The lovely Wynneth came to stay for Friday and Saturday night and, frankly, we've had a blast. She very kindly brought a project for us to work on AND we had the added bonus of a workshop at Snazzy's ...... I hardly know which to share with you first! Whichever I start with ..... be advised this is ONE PICTURE HEAVY POST ..... so you might want to take a comfort break and grab a coffee ......
Guess I'll start with Snazzy's, where Val made us most welcome (with cups of tea and coffee and some rather scrummy biskwits!). Wynneth and I met up with Cherry and Lauren at the outlet mall (about 1½ miles from our workshop destination) where we hit the Cadbury AND Lindt shops (amongst others) before grabbing a bite of lunch and heading to Snazzys. Sadly, our other pal, Debs, was poorly and couldn't make it .... but Val very kindly prepared her kit AND stamped the twelve days of Christmas on to shrink plastic for her, so she won't totally miss out on the advent  house!
We were making an advent house and Val had the most delightful papers to tempt us. Here's her example .....

Val displaying her original Christmas House - so that she doesn't appear in the photograph!
And the basic kit we all had to start with......
Templates for us to cut our patterned papers to fit the tray/house

Scrummy double sided papers to choose from

And the base "house" for us to paint and embellish
And a few shots of the rest of us, mid project .....

Eager to start!

Deep in concentration

And, lined up like we're in front of a firing squad, here's where each of us had gotten to, by the end of the session ......

Here's a closer pic of my own Advent House

And now to the project that Wynneth brought with her ...... two TANDO printer tray blanks. We started this before heading to the workshop and returned to it on Sunday morning ...... beavering away till Wynneth's hubby called to collect her!

Wynneth starts work on her project

My TandO print tray blank

Gesso-ing for England - who knew how fiddly this would prove to be?

Gold leaf it out!!!

I used Onyxite Treasure Gold on mine

My selection of stamped images (Stampers Anonymous, courtesy of a good friend - thanks matey)

Just drying my Glossy Accents and you all KNOW how long that takes!!!

Here's my stash haul from Snazzys!

  • TandO circular Print Tray blank
  • Aleenes Quick Dry Glue, Claudine Hellmuth matte medium and Glossy Accents
  • Treasure Gold Onyxite mixed with a little brush bath and applied using a paintbrush
  • Versafine onyx black and Memento Tuxedo black inks
  • Distress Inks: Black Soot, Tea Dye, Fired Brick
  • Marvey le plume alcohol marker E353 and Gold Pro Marker
  • Wink of Stella - black brush tipped glitter pen

  • Michaels Dollar stamp alphabets to generate Movember man (in honour of the whole grow a moustache in November fund raiser) and tic toc

THANKS SO MUCH to pal, Wynneth, for providing the print tray blanks - they were such fun to make up - it was definitely a "No Mascara" day!!!

Thanks so much to you all, for stopping by, hope you enjoyed your "virtual" workshops ..... must do my normal Saturday challenges ..... perhaps tomorrow!!! I MAY just have to lie in a darkened room, to recover from such a full on Craft FEST!!!! Hope your weekend has been as much fun peeps.

Didn't we have a luverly time Matey, I certainly did anyway. Thank goodness there's a darkened room down here in Cornwall too as I needed one to lie down in yesterday - totally Exhausted Daaaahling !!! It was great fun though and thanks so much for organising the Snazzy's thang. Such a shame that Debs missed all the fun.

I knew I'd find a use for those printer trays languishing in my stash one day, I'm so pleased I came across them whilst searching for something else LOL

Oh wow! What amazing photos, you all look so happy and why wouldn't you be? Sweet crafty company and a haul of crafty goodness. So happy you all got together and that you shared your day with us. It looks like the calendar house was some project! They look wonderful, a great addition to the festive decor. I bet you didn't want the weekend to end!
