Monday again - Christmas is getting closer

And I just KNOW that many of you will have been doing your Christmas shopping and/or tree buying and possibly even putting up your Christmas decorations this past weekend ... is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas in your house?

Ours has been looking a little like Santa's Grotto for nearly two weeks now, our pre-lit tree is burning up bulbs like a power station - we may or may not have enough for the holiday season but .... we remain undaunted and the tree WILL be lit as long as possible. We have a plan B should we run out of the original bulbs ............. and have a set of 120 LED clear bulbs waiting in the wings .... just in case! So, I have a question for you, if you have a pre lit tree ...... do you seem to have to replace bulbs every time you plug it in? Or is it just us?!?!?!

Anyhoo, we had a lovely weekend, catching up with family and neighbours and even managed to head out for a drive on Sunday, where we encountered pigs - I do love pigs but these two seemed to think it was too muddy - even for them. They were delicately trying to approach us without getting too mired down - and, sadly, failing miserably!! Just look at them

Bless, they almost looked stuck!!

Not happy! Not happy .... at all!!!

Even managed a little crafting .... yes, you guessed it, ANOTHER Christmas card - I seem to be stuck making them, to the exclusion of all else!!!

Materials used:
  • 5" x 7" white, 300 gsm, scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • Distress Ink - tumbled glass applied lightly using the sponge tool shown above
  • Inkadinkado sentiment and Penny Black image stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Stardust stickles used to highlight the deer and to represent "snow" under foot

I'm going to be entering this in a fairly new challenge .... over at Crafting From The Heart where they've launched their second challenge with a theme of ANYTHING GOES. I'll also be entering this for the GEM OF A CHALLENGE challenge who are also offering Anything Goes as their  current theme.

You can tell that Christmas is coming as my diary is starting to look really rather interesting! I'm off out this evening - meeting up with a pal, we're dining at a Chinese restaurant which is about half way between the two of us. We've eaten there a number of times and always had a lovely time and the food is not half bad either. I DID once make the mistake of reading some reviews of the restaurant but have to say that our experiences have been vastly different from the reviewers!!! I  hope it will be so again this evening!

Have a great Monday
