Sunday Funday

Morning and welcome to Sunday,

After a night out at a birthday party you might be forgiven for thinking I might have a thick head but, thanks to being the designated driver, the only alcohol which passed my lips was in the mince pies! It was surrogate daughter #1's birthday/Christmas party, you see. Those of you possessed of an elephantine memory will recall we attended her and her partners 100th joint party earlier in the year whilst it was warmer and sunnier!!! This party has been a regular for a number of years and she decided to go ahead, as usual. Needless to say, it follows the modern trend of "drop-ins" so there were people coming and going all evening and a running buffet of nibbles - fab! A great excuse to eat food I KNOW I shouldn't!!!! They'd certainly done their guests proud with home made bread and sausage rolls and even cheesy twists - a lovely buffet - Happy Birthday Nicky

Yesterday, the lovely ladies from Simply Less Is More set their new challenge, it was: to make a One Layer Card featuring the theme of the Twelve Days of Christmas. My entry from yesterday followed several examples from the talented Design Team in using the gorgeous Penny Black clear stamped images of the 12 DofC .... I wanted to have a second go, once I'd got those stamps out of my head; and here it is ... working on the whole "partridge in a pear tree" element of the 12 DofC

Materials used:
  • 15cm square, white, 300 gsm scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • Post It's to mask my shape
  • Distress Inks used to create the "ombre" effect (as seen in the recent issue of Craft Stamper): tumbled glass, broken china and faded jeans - applied using A Tim Holtz blending tool
  • Inkadinkado image and sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black, highlighted with Stardust stickles
And, as is my norm these days, the sentiment and image was carried across to the inside and to both the front and back of the envelope

Have a great Sunday

I only got one image, so it's probably been fixed. I love the way you chose to illustrate the 12 DofC.
