Woo Hoo!! The weekend starts here!

Morning everyone,
It's Friday and the weekend starts here!!! Me and a pal are supposed to be off to Swindon today, we're supposed to be lunching and shopping at Snazzy's but the weather forecast is for HEAVY rain - hmmmm. Shan't mind too much if it holds off till we're on our way - or better yet, till we're on our way home!!!
Either way, I shall be spending time with my friend, Sue, today so there won't be much crafting till tomorrow - when I HOPE to have new stash, weather and Snazzys permitting!
Just one card to share with you all today, it's a CAS (Clean And Simple) card and it's my second entry for the challenge over at CASology where the challenge is: PURPLE - it was made for me! I've made quite a few cards lately that all seem to feature stamped layers and, usually, splats of some description. Given the danger of falling in to this style as a bit of a rut .... I shook myself out of it this morning to share sharply contrasting layers and a clean design ..... one trick pony? Me? NEVER! It also fits with the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge which is also purple

Materials used:
  • Purple C6 card blank and matching sized white envelope
  • Off cuts of card in black and hot pink
  • Kaisercraft "tiny dots" image stamped on the hot pink panel using Memento grape jelly ink
  • A6 piece of purple DCWV linen effect card, for matting my image panel
  • Penny Black "Iris" image from their Allegro stamp set, stamped on to a piece of white card using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Stardust stickles used to highlight the iris
And, given that I was able to use another of my enormous stash of coloured card blanks .... here's how the inside looked
Additional materials used:
  • Distress Ink in picked raspberry swiped top to bottom - to pick up on the "hot pink" panel from the front of the card, overstamped again with the Kaisercraft "tiny dots" using Memento grape jelly
  • Penny Black iris image and sentiment by Imagine That both stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
Those of you who saw my last red Christmas card may recall the splats and images used .... someoe suggested it might look good in green so, here it is - in green!
Materials used (more briefly than usual as you've already seen this card and read the list:
  • 15cm cm square white, 300 gsm, scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • Off cuts of green and white card
  • Colour wash of green mica paint/blending solution by Imagination Crafts
  • Images by  Kaisercraft and Stamploitations
  • Inks: Memento - pear tart and bamboo
  •          Versafine - onyx black
  •          Adirondack - bottle green
  •          Distress Inks - bundled sage and iced spruce
  • Stardust stickles
And now for the Friday Funny brought to us all this week courtesy of Lilian - thanks Lilian, you're in the draw! I've obviously had it a while though as it came to me in an e-mail entitled "Travel plans for 2013" - I've changed it in a couple of places .
My travel plans for 2014
I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.
I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognises you there.
I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work.
I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.
I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often.
I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.
Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.
One of my favourite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart!  At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!
I may have been in Continent, but I don't remember what country I was in. It's an age thing. They tell me it is very wet and damp there. (eeeuuuwww!!!)

You might want to adopt this rule for your everyday behaviour: "Life is short. Smile, while you still have your teeth!!!!."
And the hair? I was at the hairdressers yesterday - we didn't have enough to do the whole head (it was a tube of colour that I provided) so we went with highlights of colour all over ....

And, of course, I couldn't resist having a play within photobucket and came up with this outrageous purple look

What do you think? My next profile pic????
Of course, when I get home (with my inevitable NEW STASH) I might like to have a go at at the CASual Friday challenge which, this week, is: "OVER THE EDGE"!

Have a fab Friday and a great weekend everyone!
