Welcome to another What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday

Weather's been so blooming rubbish that there's little incentive to go out unless you have to right now - THE perfect excuse to stay in and read or craft. I spent much of yesterday reading (see below) and only a little time crafting .....

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 300 gsm, scallop edged card blank and matching sized envelope
  • Distress Ink in festive berries "swiped" top to bottom of the card
  • Creative Expressions alphabet stamp inked using the same distress ink
  • Paper Artsy "splatter" image stamped numerous times using Color Box gold ink
  • Visible Image "ink splat" stamped using Distress Ink in barn door
  • Darcies sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black ink

And here's a bit of a close up of the coloured panel ....

Yes, it's another Christmas card to add to my stack - I'm aiming for eight per month to keep up with my quota for the year. I'm planning to enter this for the challenge over at CASology which is "BOLD", given that the colours are bold and so is the sentiment.

I'm chuffed to bits to have one of my cards picked for the top 3 over at The Male Room, thanks peeps, I'm delighted you liked it - especially after the trouble I had getting hold of that set of stamps!

It was for this card - in their music challenge, a couple of weeks ago
Yesterday was hubby's birthday, it was a biggie so he got more cards than usual too. I'm delighted to say that many were hand made and from crafting buddies and I'd like to thank EVERYONE who took the trouble to send a card, whether hand made or shop bought. Here's a photo - you may be able to pick out your card from the stack!
Hubby appreciated the thought behind each and every one of his cards seen here
Due to a bit of a senior moment (yes, we're all heading that way!) I gaily set the alarm yesterday morning for my 10:00 am chiropody appointment - yes, even on hubby's birthday!!! Only trouble was - the appointment is actually today!! So, I had to set the alarm AGAIN this morning - DOH! It'll be a while before he lets me live THAT one down!
We've been marking hubby's birthday since the weekend as we were out to dinner (Chinese) with "the surrogates" on Saturday, Monday saw us out with friends (no dog training then!) Liz and Graeme at a local hotel restaurant and last night saw us at the mighty Raj's - boy, are we stuffed now! Back on normal rations from now on though - methinks! I have to say that Raj, as always, made us most welcome and served up a meal well up to his normal standards and thus our expectations were well and truly met! Mmmmmm
So, WHY was I reading so much? Hubby got some lovely gifts though, as you get older, you get fewer of them!! One thoughtful gift was a radio controlled plane (he's already set that up on his all singing radio control unit AND it's on charge!) and another .... "the surrogates" clubbed together and bought hubs an Indian cookery class at the hotel where I had afternoon tea recently (yes, it's a fair cop ... I DID know in advance!). We're both looking forward to that - though for different reasons!!! Me? I'm looking forward to the tasting! He also got a lot of what I call "stocking presents" (least they would be if it was Christmas!) and a bottle of nice whisky from an Aunt and Uncle - oh yes, he was properly spoiled! - as he SHOULD be. He wasted VERY little time getting the plane up and running ... he tells me that this plane is DESIGNED to be flown indoors - yeah, right!!! Needless to say, the batteries got flattened and then recharged and then ...... like a kid - Again, Again!

And now, it's What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday too

Have a great Wednesday

Belated birthday wishes to DH, I tracked down a set of stamps which include the Warm Fuzzies sentiment, so I'm a happy bunny (or I will be when they arrive)
