Morning and welcome to the weekend, which starts with a Friday Funny!

Morning,

I made a bit of a mistake recently and this scheduled (but hardly finished) post made its way to the internet (BRIEFLY) yesterday - can you say OOOPS! However, I've properly finished it now and here it really is!

I was out much of yesterday, meeting up with a pal over from the Netherlands. I first met Katie on-line via the original Craftbubble and, despite our age differences, we got on pretty well. Now when she visits with family and friends in Wiltshire we try to meet up. I picked her up from a B&B in Cirencester this time and we headed to Snazzys for a quick shop, natter with Val and then headed to lunch at the Sally Pussey Inn. Feeling the urge to walk off a bit of our MEGA lunch we then headed to the Swindon outlet mall and had a walk round - I'm almost ashamed to 'fess up that we both spent more in the Cadbury shop than anywhere else!!!!

Shopping at Snazzys

Katie's enormous chilli - thank heavens I HAD warned her!

We didn't spend QUITE enough to need a handbag that size!!!
I had a lovely surprise when I got home too as my prize from the lovely peeps at CAS-ual Fridays arrived - yee haa!

And, since I've not had the opportunity to craft since Monday - I thought a little light crafting (with new ink pads) might fit the bill yesterday evening too. You will notice that I'm still enjoying "SPLAT-fest"!!!!

Materials used:

  • ATC blank
  • White card cut slightly larger than ATC size
  • Images used: Visible Image "splat" and "feather", Imagine That sentiment, Inkadinkado and Kaisercraft splats, Kaisercraft old script, Paper Artsy "splatter"
  • Inks used: Memento dandelion, tangelo, sweet plum, Color Box gold, Versafine imperial purple and onyx black

And now for the Friday Funny, this week courtesy of Marsha - thanks Marsha. ENJOY!!!!

In a convent, the 98-year-old Mother Superior lay dying.  The nuns gathered around her bed trying to make  her last journey comfortable.

They tried giving her warm milk to drink but she refused it.

One of the nuns took the glass back to the kitchen. Then, remembering a bottle of whiskey that  had been received as a gift the previous Christmas, she opened it and poured a generous amount into the warm milk.

Back at Mother Superior's bed, they held the glass to her lips. The frail nun drank a little, then a little more and before they knew it, she had finished the whole glass down to the last drop.

As her eyes brightened, the nuns thought it would be a good opportunity to have one last talk with their spiritual leader...

"Mother Superior," the nuns asked earnestly, "Please give us some of your wisdom before you leave us."

She raised herself up in bed on one elbow, looked at them and said: "DON'T SELL THAT COW."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone

So glad (but not surprised) to hear you and the lovely Katie had such a great day yesterday. LOVE your crafty haul and deeply jealous about your foray to The Cadbury Shop. I have a feeling Katie will be going home to The Netherlands with a fairly HUUUUUUGE stash of chocolate as I know she's ever so slightly addicted ;oD

Love your artwork. Good to see you keeping your had in :oD
