And a slightly soggy Tuesday it is too!

Hi readers,

What a funny old night last night was? Frankly, I'm kind of pleased it's over - it started off normally enough but, around 02:00 we were wakened to the sound of a burglar alarm .... it takes a second at that time of night to realise .... it's OURS!! Thankfully, nothing untoward though hubby did track down the World's largest moth which must surely have snuck in (unseen) when the windows were open all day yesterday! Hmm .... moth dispatched (alive) through an open door with the clear instructions never to return!, and we retired to bed once more. Got up for a comfort break a little later only to discover  .... no blooming water! Wakened by a pal (of hubby's) ringing and we still had no water! Water came back on a bit later, noisily, spluttering and BROWN!!! The TV news reveals a broken water main about two miles from us which is closing one of the main arterial roads around here and which is likely to remain closed until at least lunchtime .... the upside? We don't have to go anywhere this morning so we can slob about unshowered till the water is running clear once more!! Felt VERY sorry for those poor commuters who will have had no choice but to wait their turn in what must have been a very miserable morning commute.

On the plus side .... I found out this morning that I (along with several card designers more talented  than myself) have been inducted on to the Wall of Fame over at AddictedtoCAS - thanks so much peeps, I'm honoured - check out the WoF selection here and (if you have a moment) check out the other awesome talents too
You've no doubt been following my mixed media "summer School" project entitled Me Time Messages - run by the talented mixed media artist, Clare ...... time to share week four - where IS this summer vacation going?

Materials used:
  • Envelope
  • Journaled message inside envelope which was then sealed
  • Gesso, two coats - applied with a foam brush
  • White acrylic paint - applied with a foam brush
  • Deep Red grungy border stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Kaisercraft "washi tape" images stamped using Versafine red and blue inks and heat set
  • The Little Yellow Bicycle "memories"sentiment, Close to my Heart "You only live...." and Crafty Impressions "Don't be afraid.." sentiments all stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Inktense blocks (pink/purple/white/blue), mixed with water and applied with a brush
  • Computer generated journalling
  • Ranger liquid pearls applied to give dimension
Clare suggests (in her video) personalising the envelope with the addition of photos but I figured mine was busy enough - perhaps my inner minimalist SCREAMING at me!!!

You should always listen to your Inner Minimalist when it screams at you!

Sorry to hear about the water and the alarm. Hope all is well now!

What summer vacation? I've been on the go for weeks now, and could do with a rest. Off out today to take DGD to hospital for an infusion to help with his Crohnes disease. I think I might have Thursday off, so that will be nice.
