Saturday challenge day

Hi folks,
Most of you will know that Saturday mornings are normally spent making cards (or other papercraft projects) for challenges. Well, weirdly enough, I headed to my craft table this morning fully intending to make a card for the new "NEWSPRINT" challenge over at Simply Less Is More but .... being of the easily side tacked persuasion this is what came to exist instead .... sorry peeps, guess that the newsprint CAS card is still a work in progress!!!! You might want to check back later...

My "side tracked" card!

And co-ordinating insert and envelope
Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • White, Black, grey and patterned card snippets, white card, black card
  • Deep Red image (new stash - see below) stamped on to a white card snippet using Ranger Archival watering can ink
  • Copic markers (new stash - see below) to colour image
  • Penny Black sentiment stamped on to large white card panel using Ranger Archival watering can ink
I'll be entering this card for the "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Sister Act blog and also for the "For the Boys" challenge over at the Chocolate, coffee, cards blog. It's back to the drawing board for me with the LIM card .... and, of course, there's a new Rudolph Day challenge over at Stamping for Pleasure, where you have to submit two makes (in the same post) so I guess I'll be pretty busy later.

Yesterday saw me heading off to Lakeland with hubby, dropped him at the air field as there was an air show he wanted to attend ...... me? Well, I had a list of places to visit: Violette's, Corner Scrapping, HobbyLobby, Michaels and Joann's!!! Yee Haa! Looks like we both had a good day planned! It's another photo heavy post from me again today ..... enjoy!

The mighty Violette's in Lakeland

More sneaky peeks at Violette's

Diana (the owner) at work behind her counter

What a smashing setting in a quiet historic downtown street

The Corner Scrappin' Shack - a new store to me

Manny's in Winter Haven - for a steak dinner on the way home

I'm not hungry any more - those steaks are HUGE!

My Corner Scrappin' Shack stash

Stash from Violette's

And some cool green copics from Violette's

Happy Saturday - see you tomorrow folks!
