Morning and welcome to snippets Sunday!

Morning all,
Yesterday I was AWOL pretty much all day as I was meeting a couple of crafting and blogging buddys at the Stamp Attic in Wantage ... it was a nice run for my car, which normally just does short journeys. We had arranged to meet just before lunch, find somewhere nice to eat and natter and then .... SHOP! Want to see what mischief we got up to?

Who knew Wantage was so cute?

The scene of the planned SHOP!
How kind of the Stamp Attic to paint their store in my fave colour

They've even borrowed Geoffrey from ToysRUs and decorated for Christmas!!!

Are we having fun - you betcha!
We managed to persuade Wendy to take this pic of the three of us
I've cropped half of me from the pic - the other two know why!!!

My modest stash haul!!!
Apparently, we narrowly missed Anne (one of the LIM DT) who knew we were coming and "sort of" waited about in order that we could meet ..... but Cherry had got herself a bit lost and didn't get to meet us till 12:15 - first order of the day then turned out to be lunch!! So sorry to have missed you Anne and hope we might liaise our arrival better next time - now we know our way there! We went to the BUZZ CAFE and ordered our panini's for lunch - there was a bit of a delay because they ran out of one lunch item - we weren't rushed so just sat and nattered - imagine our surprise when they turned up with three complimentary slices of cake by way of an apology for the delay - how lovely and so much nicer as it was so unexpected too - thanks peeps ..... sadly, they don't have a web site so I can't post a link but they're in Mill Street just off the main Market Place - if you are in the vicinity.

I don't know where those few hours went - it didn't feel like long before we were waving goodbye and threatening to do it all again ... soon!

After a recent rummage (that involved the removal of drawers to see inside!) I found a lost image and thought I should use it again, sharpish, before I lost it again!
Over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop Di has launched her latest "snippets challenge", number 153 ...... so, here's my make this week, using said lost (and found) image :-
Materials used:
  • White card snippets die cut in to 5cm diameter circles
  • Blue card snippets and red card snippets die cut in to 6cm diameter scallop edged circles
  • Craft Stamper free stamp image stamped on to white card using Versamark ink before liberally sprinkling razzle dazzle gold embossing powder and heat embossing
  • Crop-a-dile used to punch small holes and set eyelets
Tags are such a great way to use up snippets and, at this time of year, EVERYONE needs tags!! I'm undecided whether to stamp "TO" and "FROM" on the reverse at this time or whether to wait and see how long the recipients names turn out to be!! It may just be easier to write it .... any thoughts peeps?
Can't believe it ... only one more sleep till December! How are you all doing with your Christmas preparation? I posted off the "foreign" cards so they will all, hopefully, arrive in plenty of time for the holiday - Royal Mail permitting. I weighed them all last weekend and just five envelopes (containing seven cards) cost me £7.34 to mail!!! Be assured I shall be reviewing my mailing options in 2015! What a price?!?!? Thank heaven's I've not that many parcels to post this year. I see Royal Mail are already setting our expectations for parcel deliveries - you might want to think about mailing earlier rather than later .... I sent my last packet using MyHermes - worked like a charm!

Edited to add: Woke up to a real pea souper this morning, so glad it wasn't like that for yesterday's foray ..... it's now 09:00 and still looks like this - normally we can see houses and trees in the middle distance!

Have a great Sunday everyone

Looks like you all had a ball and I'm loving your new stash. No wonder you couldn't resist those gorgeous Paper Smooches Sentiments. They're great.

Poor Cherry; she must have been really frazzled by the time she got to you. How annoying is that? Glad to hear she made it in time for lunch.

Certainly does look foggy. We woke to fog too but it's lifting now I'm pleased to say.

Happy Sunday

It looks like a fab time was had by one and all Kathy! Nice to meet up with like minded people. Unfortunately, there is nobody that I know close by who is in to card making, which is why I decided to blog! Have a good Sunday. Hazel x

TFS your fun outing with us. The little town & shop look exactly like what I see on some of the British shows I love to watch. So glad that you had a lovely day & lunch with your friends. You were quite restrained in your shopping, so guess your credit card is still loving you! Love this colorful quartet of bright tags. Love the tiny bird hopping on his wreath and how versatile this image was to make a set of tags to have handy. Changed the look just by ramping up the colors. WTGo. TFS & Hugs. (a great snippet make too).
