Welcome to What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday

Morning all,

Yesterday was a lovely day, which was entirely unexpected as we had experienced heavy rain, sleet and snow and also high winds throughout Monday - half expected to wake up to snow that had drifted against walls, hedges and fences but was pleasantly surprised with sunshine instead!!!

Not at all sorry about that situation as we were both out in the afternoon, at the surrogates and I was meeting up with a pal yesterday evening and she doesn't drive so would be waiting for buses, no fun at the best of times but positively MISERABLE in the snow too! We were meeting in the centre of a suburban shopping are which is blessed with three Indian restaurants a Mezze restaurant, an Italian, a chippy AND a Chinese takeaway (such a shame their restaurant closed for refurbishment and never reopened!) so we were spoilt for choice. We opted for Italian and I really enjoyed my Pizza and pannacotta - yummmmm! We nattered for ages and then I dropped her home - well, the buses are so unreliable at that time of night!
And over at Simply Less Is More their challenge is: "Wings", so I set off to make a project for this:-

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 300gs, scallop edged card blank and matching sized envelope
  • 13½cm square white card panel and blue card for matting
  • Scrap card with circle aperture die cut  to use as a mask
  • Distress Ink in tumbled glass and salty ocean applied through the mask using a Tim Holtz mini blending tool with a foam pad.
  • Inkadinkado morphic bug image stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Turquoise brusho used in liquid form to colour the dragonfly wings
  • Paper Artsy splatter image stamped using Distress Ink in broken china

Morning matey. Glad to hear you had a nice evening with your pal. Two smashing cards there and as you've still got space to work on your desk I don't see how you could POSSIBLY call it untidy :oD

Two beautiful cards indeed! The Rudolph Days cards is so pretty! Love that circle apperture used for creating the background.
You have the perfect sized stamps for this idea...Santa's sleigh off intot he night is wonderful.

Your other card is stunning. The brusho on the wings makes them just glow!

My desk looks like this after creating too. But my eye was drawn to those lovely drawers you have. They look like the Alexix from Ikea! Lucky girl!!!

Two lovely CAS cards here. I love the dragonflies though I came here to see the Christmas one via Rudolf Day.
I have to admit that my desk often looks like that too. When there is just not enough space to work in any more, I have to have a tidy up, but it never lasts. Kate x

Hi Kathy, Love the way you've displayed your flying Santa Sleigh in the circle aperture. Wonderful colors - very frosty in feel...just perfect for Rudy Day #2. Love the CAS look on Rudy's card. Also very much enjoyed the cool look of the blue dragonfly in the same kind of design layout. Just goes to show how different each card can look with different stamps, still in the same colorways. Thanks for joining in Rudy Day #2. Happy wkend. Hugs
