Welcome to another lazy Sunday at the Purple Palace

Morning all,
WARNING: Picture heavy post - you might want to grab a coffee before you sit down to read it!
If you stopped by my blog yesterday then you probably spotted that I was out for the day - had a fab day with an old friend and met a new friend ..... did some shopping, had some lunch and some exercise too - brilliant day! I was in Wantage, meeting Debs and visiting the Stamp Attic where we also met Anne from the LIM Design Team. First time we'd met and, with the Stamp Attic closing, it may also be the last time for a while! We have our fingers crossed that the Stamp Attic will rise from the ashes of the Stamp Attic when the present owners take well earned retirement at the end of May.
Anne recommended The Wildwood Kitchen and we are glad she did! It doesn't look big from the outside but is truly TARDIS like inside!
We could see our food being prepared!

TheTARDIS like interior

After a filling lunch we decided to take a walk around Wantage and see what else they have to offer ......
First up, we found a little arcade which turned out to be entirely filled with books .... and Archimedes was on guard
this lovely boy was up for being made a fuss of and posed for this photo
Then it was on our way round the rest of Wantage ..

Back to the Buzz café (where we lunched last trip) for a coffee and more chat before heading home .... wanna see what I bought? I'm almost ashamed of such a meagre amount of stash but I DID splurge a bit at Craftathon you see ......
And then, finally, it was time to craft .....

My floral card using no flowers!!!

My co-ordinating insert and envelope

And my materials!

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • 13½cm square white card panels - for image and insert
  • Hero Arts "flower head" pinwheel image stamped using Memento dandelion ink
  • Stamplorations "stem" from their celebrate artsy set stamped using Memento pear tart ink
  • Imagine That sentiment stamped using Memento bamboo leaves ink

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:
  1. Simply Less Is More - Colour challenge week - "Yellow and Green"
  2. Allsorts - "Spring is in the air"
  3. Gem of a challenge - "CAS"

All I'm going to say is ... "see, Anne, I made it!!"

Happy Sunday

Looks like you enjoyed your day Kathy, and I can see some splodges in amongst those goodies, so I don't think it will be long before they turn up here.

Sorry to hear about a crafters shop closing though, always a very sad time, so I do hope it will get taken over by someone else.

Well, it wasn't as much fun as being there in person would have been, but I had a lovely imaginary tour and delicious food, nevertheless! Thank you for sharing your fun day, Kathy! Your goodies and your spring card are heavenly!! Hugs, Darnell

It was good that you managed to catch up with Anne this time after missing her so closely last time!
I ought to try to get up there before the Stamp Attic closes.
Super CAS card to boot too.
Thanks so much

Good to meet you, just sorry it was so brief, weekends are never long enough to fit everything in.
I have managed to work my purchase into next week's challenge though I don't think that is much of a clue to the theme lol!
Stylish card as ever Kathy
Thanks so much for your Less is More entry
