Lazy Sunday

Morning all,

The hubster was out all day yesterday, having a day for him - only fair since I had a day all about me and my crafting (with a pal) on Friday. He left home around 08:00 and returned around 17:30 which meant that, once the bed was made, washer and dishwasher loaded - I was free to craft. First order of the day was to finish a project started with Sarn ....

You probably saw my post yesterday with some photos of a playdate with a new crafting buddy ... it was going to end up far to photo heavy to post the details so I'll share the details a bit at a time ....

The front

The back

The twinkly side!

Matmerials used:
  • One heart shaped ornament (provided by Sarn, thanks matey!)
  • Gesso, applied in my fave fashion .... with a baby wipe!!!

  • Fresco paints in pansy and orchid swiped diagonally across the front along with a little gorgeous iridescent burgundy "lunalite" paint
  • The pansy paint was sponged randomly through sequin waste and the orchid paint applied to a bottle cork and randomly applied too
  • The lunalite paint was applied to a bottle top and "stamped" around the outside of the cork impression
  • Kaisercraft mini grid stamped randomly using Stazon violet ink
  • The date was written in using a posca black pen
  • Liquitex clear gloss gel medium sponged through a finer circle design and then pink microbeads added (excess tapped off)
  • Hampton Art sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival  jet black ink

  • Orchid ink applied over the reverse of the heart
  • Fresco pansy sponged through sequin waste
  • Lunalite paint sponged through a TCW mini numbers stencil
  • Kaisercraft mini grid stamped randomly using Stazon violet ink

  • Versamark ink applied to the edges of the heart
  • Gold dazzle embossing powder poured over the ink and heat set
I'll be entering this tag for the following challenge/s:
  1. That Craft Place - ANYTHING GOES

I had a great day and was pretty knackered by the end of it! Full on crafting day, full of fun, chat and laughter - thanks, Sarn. I also did a little more to my IKEA mirror but that's far from finished!

And then yesterday it was all a bit of an anticlimax! No better therapy for that than crafting! With Sounds of the Sixties and later Pick of the Pops on the radio I was well away!

My tag

And a close up to show the sparkle!

Materials used:

  • White luggage tag - 120 x 60mm
  • Distress Inks: broken china, salty ocean, stormy sky
  • Chocolate Baroque snowflake stamped using Ranger Archival cobalt blue ink
  • Kaisercraft sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Crystal stickles used to highlight

I'll be entering this tag for the following challenges:-
  1. Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge - challenge No. 233 - Snow in June (I went with snowflakes)
  2. Merry Monday - challenge No 163 - TAG YOU'RE IT
  3. ABC of Christmas - L is for LYRICS ...And the song? Here comes Suzi Snowflake? Not familiar?

It's the wedding anniversary of some friends of ours today, so ... Happy Anniversary Wynneth and Tom, hope you will enjoy a lovely day and some nice weather!
