Welcome to a lazy Sunday morning . . . .

Morning,

How's your weekend been?

Yesterday saw us out to lunch with a pal of hubby's, I'd not met this pal or his wife before but we  had a lovely time and a delicious meal, thank you to you both.

My mojo has been hibernating from this vile weather of late and, aside from challenge Saturday's, I've had very little crafting to share. Today, however, I have this to share ....  I saw the technique deployed recently (by Eileen Godwin - a facebook link), using brusho's AND alcohol blending solution. Loved the effect and wanted to give it a go - my technique still needs work but I have my first attempt to share with you today ..

My card

And a close up to show the texture

And the insert and envelope

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to 13½cm and 13cm square + snippet
  • Two pieces of black card cut to 14cm and 13.6cm square + snippets
  • Snippet of gold card, for matting
  • Snippet of 300gsm water colour card
  • Brushos in turquoise, purple, orange and yellow sprinkled, spritzed and then alcohol blending solution added to control the distribution of colour
  • Once dry I ran the water colour panel through my big shot inside an embossing folder
  • Versamark ink run lightly over the raised section before pan pastel in gold was applied with a sponge, buffed and then set using hairspray
  • Stamplorations sentiment builder set stamped using Versafine onyx black ink on to a snippet, for the insert and envelope I used Memento Paris dusk and tuxedo black inks
  • For the insert and envelope I also used Stampers Anonymous circles image stamped using Memento Paris Dusk ink and Visible Image scribbled circle stamped using Brilliance galaxy gold ink

I'll be entering this card for the following challenges:
  1. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 206 - SNIPPETS CHALLENGE
  2. Craft Rocket - challenge No. 5 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafting with an attitude - challenge No. 10 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Crafting by Design - December challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  5. WelovetoCreate (Pan Pastels) - challenge No. - ANYTHING (mixed media) GOES
  6. Happy Little Stampers - December challenge - ANYTHING (mixed media) GOES

Have a great weekend
