Another lovely Sunday ...

Morning all

Another lovely Sunday here, hope your weekend is going according to plan.

Having made a masculine card recently and then realised it might be in rather poor taste to send it .. I thought I should have another go - and here it is, Mark II! I am sooooooooooooo loving the Distress Crayons and owe pal, Lauren, a debt of gratitude for "taking one for the team" and acquiring a set so she could review them before I (or any of our crafting group) bought some! Cheers mate!, hope you will approve of the colours I used today.

My card
The front and back of my card

The inside of my card and the envelope

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to 13½cm square
  • Two pieces of black card cut to 14½cm square
  • Snippets: black card and white card for image panel and a snippet of white card for my plane image
  • White gesso, applied to larger white card snippet
  • Distress Craysons: twisted citron, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon
  • Ranger stencils through which I rubbed a slightly damp baby wipe, to knock back some of the colour
  • Stampers Anonymous World map stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink, on to the larger square of white card
  • Stampers Anonymous "plane" image stamped on to a snippet of white card using Versafine onyx black ink (for a really solid black image) and, once dry, fussy cut out and applied to the image panel using dimensional foam tape

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No - SNIPPETS CHALLENGE
  2. Just Add Ink - challenge No. 308 - JUST ADD "M" ... my M? MAP!
  3. Seize the Birthday - April 21st challenge - ANYTHING GOES - 2nd entry
  4. Creative Artiste - challenge No. 13 -  ANYTHING (mixed media) GOES
  5. Curtain Call - April 15th - KEEP IT SIMPLE

And, whilst I had those Distress Crayons out .... an ATC just kind of happened!

My ATC
Materials Used:
  • ATC blank
  • White card snippet, coated with gesso and allowed to dry
  • Distress Crayons: twisted citron, mermaid lagoon and peacock feathers scribbled and then blended with a moistened finger
  • Using a baby wipe and a couple of stencils by TCW and Stampers Anonymous I knocked back some colour and also ADDED some colour with a Ranger Archival jet black ink pad applied with a piece of cut and dry
  • Dylusions circles image stamped using Brilliance pearlescent blue ink
  • Stampers Anonymous crazy bird stamped twice, once on to my image panel and a second time on to a white card snippet
  • Alcohol markers to colour image which I then fussy cut out (apart from the legs - too small) and affixed directly over the other stamped image
  • Penny Black "foliage" image stamped (to ground the image) using Memento grape jelly ink
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen and Signo Uniball white gel pen used to add highlights and a Pitt Big Brush pen to outline the ATC

The Crane family swung by again - awww

Fabulous masculine card and adorable ATC. I keep telling myself I do not need distress crayons, but it doesn't work very well when I see them used so beautifully :)
