Hey there and welcome to a challenge Saturday post from me ...

Hi there readers and followers,

I'm a bit later today, bit of trouble uploading photos but .. finally made it! We've had some freaky weather the last couple of days ....

It's quite put me off my crafting, hard to craft with thunder crashing right over your head! Still, as you will see below, didn't put me off for too long!

My card
The front of my envelope and inside of my card
The front and back of my card
Materials used:

  • White C6/A2, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • Two white card (300gsm) panels cut to 4.25" x 5" - couldn't find my metric ruler and too lazy to convert!
  • Kaisercraft "bark" image stamped using Memento rosebud ink
  • Inkadinkado image stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:-
  1. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 272 - USE THREE STAMPS
  2. Creative Corner - April 16th challenge - SPRING FLOWERS
  3. Crafting with an attitude - challenge No. 14 - ANYTHING GOES

Managed some journaling but haven't got very far with it ..

Materials used:
  • Strathmore mixed media journal page (NOT gesso'd)
  • Distress Crayons: mustard seed, spiced marmalade and picked raspberry - to lay down background colour
  • Using a travel wipe (couldn't find my baby wipes at short notice) through a Royal Menagerie stencil to knock back some colour
  • Distress Crayons in twisted citron and mermaid lagoon to add shading round some of the circles
  • Soft pencil - also to add shading, blended with my trusty finger!

Enjoy your weekend though I hear some parts of the U.K. have ... SNOW!!!!  Soooo not what we expect in mid April!

Hello Kathy...
No snow in West Sussex but I started outside potting up a daisy in the sun and then hurried inside after rain began to fall. Then it was sunny again ...and then it rained again.! Given up and started blogging!
So Florida having rain too! Boo! that's not good!
We are just waiitng on my sister to contact us from her new abode in Mauritus about whether we can visit her in August! Some sun on the cards for us if so...

Such a pretty design on your card Kathy! I think foliage/flower etc stamps look so effective laid over a background so I love how you've done this. The start of your art journal page is gorgeous too. I like making a/j backgrounds rather than doing middle and top layers, so I have lots and lots of lovely backgrounds that I can't bear to cover up :p Yours would definitely be one of them. It's fab!

WOW - looks like you had a right deluge going on! Sunshine and showers here too . . . no snow!

Love the look of your thank you card. That lovely large silhouette stamp goes so well over your wood grain background.

And you AJ page looks fabulous already. Can't wait to see what else you do to it.

I grabbed a handful of snippets and have been busy using up them up (3 cards so far!)

Hugs, Sarn xxx

Oooh! Not pretty weather for you Kathy ... looks like we came off better today up north as it's been quite sunny and pleasant. Anyway love your 3-stamp take on the challenge. A silhouette design works perfect and love the pink BG stamp. Thanks for playing along at Less is More. Sarah

What a lot of rain!!! We had a hail downpour yesterday but surprisingly not that much rain. Still all the more time to be indoors in a crafty corner making these beauties. So simply and elegant, gorgeous! Lou x
