Lazy Sunday morning


WELCOME TO MAY! Not entirely sure where April went but, with snow falling in the past week in many parts of the U.K. I'm sure there are few people sorry to see an end to May!

Anyhoo you will, if you visit my blog regularly, realise that I am currently crazy about Distress Crayons and stencils and today's make is no different .... check it out

My card
Front and back of card and the envelope
Materials used:
  • 6" square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • Black card cut to 5½" square and a snippet held back for matting
  • White card cut to two 5¼" square panels and a snippet held back for my image panel
  • Gesso applied to white card snippet
  • Once dry Distress Crayons: mustard seed, fossilised amber, spiced marmalade and rusty hinge applied and blended with a moistened finger
  • Using a baby wipe and stencils from Tim Holtz colour was knocked back
  • Using a piece of cut and dry foam Ranger Archival jet black ink was applied through a TCW stencil
  • Stampers Anonymous small numbers stamped using Versacolour gold and Ranger Distress Ink in hickory smoke inks
  • Hampton Art (wood mounted) numbers stamped using Hero Arts neon yellow ink for the insert and envelope
  • Stampendous sentiments stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Stardust stickles used to highlight the corner inking and a charcoal pencil used to outline some of the numbers and then smudged with a finger

Brilliant Kathy! So cheerful and beautifully designed and made.

We have sunshine here and it's quite warm too! Needless to say folk will be trouping round in shorts and skimpy tops before we know it. Ha, then the snow will return :)

LOVE the layers of your card Kathy. Great colours too. I tried watercolouring with the distress crayons, but not good for me. Will try spreading the goodness around with a moist finger. Thanks. xx

Hi Kathy, was just trawling through the challenge site you mentioned, picked a challenge at random, whizzed through the entries till one really stood out, clicked on it and hey presto, I was back at the Purple Palace!
This is really fab, and inspires me to have another go at the crayons x
