Lazy Sunday post

Morning

Had a very pleasant evening with friends yesterday and popped out to grab a bite to eat at the Hurricane Grill - how I do love a pint of sweetwater 420! YUMMMM

Been a while since I tried my hand at some "proper" journalling .... and I'd seen a video I quite fancied having a go at so ...

My journal page
Using a retailers bag ... cool huh? I adhered to my journal and then added a coat of gesso
A wash of colour with pan pastels in diarylide yellow and permanent red
Dylusions border stamped on to 110lb white card, cut out and adhered using collage medium
before starting to colour with two zig brush markers
Further water colours added using Peerless water colour and the luminarte mica paints - extra shimmer!
I mixed some jacquard mica powder with Ranger collage medium (crackle) and
applied through a Tim Holtz stencil
A little stamping with Dylusions images
My Dina Wakely image (stamped on to white card and coloured with pan pastels
and Distress Inks and then a Dina Wakely sentiment added
Materials used:
  • Strathmore mixed media journal page
  • Snippets of 110lb white card for the Dylusions borders and Dina Wakely image
  • Snippet of paper taken from a retailers paper bag
  • White gesso
  • Pan pastels diarylide yellow and permanent red, applied with an angled sofft sponge and also a much finer sofft tool (for the "painting" of the image)
  • Dylusions border stamp
  • Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Zig clean colour markers - neon yellow and orange
  • Luminarte mica paints
  • Peerless water colour
  • Ranger collage medium (crackle)
  • Jacquard bright yellow mica powder
  • Tim Holtz numbers stencil
  • Dina Wakely image and sentiment coloured using skin white alcohol marker and the red and yellow pan pastels, shoes coloured with a violet Zig clean colour brush marker
I shall be entering this for the following challenges:

Brilliant journal page Kathy, super result and I loved reading how you made it. Then I watched the video and am all fired up - looking at a small pile of flatboard canvases on my desk here. Wondering if I dare! :)

Sounds like you're having a wonderful time - I just looked at the menu, yummy!!

Sorry I'm a bit late hopping round to comment, the sunshine yesterday was just too tempting!

Hugs
