Sunday morning, time for a snippet ..

Morning all

Here we are at another lazy Sunday morning and I've some workshop photos to share with you this morning. If you saw my post of yesterday then you will know that I was offline all day because I was at a workshop ..... would you like to see some photo's? This post is a little photo heavy but I hope you will enjoy it ....

Getting ourselves organised
YUPO paper and alcohol inks - experiment #1
YUPO paper and alcohol inks - experiment #2
YUPO paper and alcohol inks - experiment #3
My YUPO make, matted on to white card then black card - ready for a card
Christmas monoliths
Butterfly monoliths
My monolith
Materials used:
  • One MDF monolith
  • White acrylic (applied to the reverse of the monolith) paint
  • White paper sprayed with Dylusions inks in white, turquoise, grass green and blue and then used to both cover the monolith and die cut the butterflies. Also used was Crafty notions poppy and Perfect Pearls mica spray in sunburst yellow
  • Butterfly stamped randomly and directly on to the paper covered monolith using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Strips of acetate were used to "extend" the butterflies from the monolith, to give the appearance of flight
  • Unknown manufacturers (workshop hostesses own stamp) "CREATE" stamped on the monolith
  • Nuvo embellishment mousse .... I want to call it Pewter ... borrowed from a pal - thanks, Lilian! for the base
  • Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle over the entire project, once finished

I'll be entering the monolith for the following challenge:-
  1. Welove2Create - challenge No. 15 - ANYTHING GOES

Thanks so much Barbara, really enjoyed it. If anyone else is within easy reach of exit 1 of the M32 and fancies coming along to a future workshop hosted by Barbara then please leave me a comment with an e-mail address (which I won't publish) and I'll be happy to pass it along to Barbara. There were 7 of us today but another few would be very welcome.

I've a little snippet make to share with you, still making ATC's as though my life depended on it which, of course, it doesn't!

  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in grey, navy and white
  • Creative Expressions letters stamped using Hero Arts neon green ink
  • Kaisercraft numbers image stamped using Hero Arts neon pink ink
  • Kaisercraft harlequin image stamped using Ranger Archival cobalt blue ink, stamped off once
  • Sunshine Designs ear of wheat image and Hero Arts sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink

I'll be entering this make for the following challenges:-

What a fab work shop, love the variety of things you did. Yupo looks great, but my fave is the butterfly monolith, or maybe the Christmas one .... or maybe the Yupo experiments .... can't decide, all lovely, what a pity the M32 is so far away from here

Beautiful card Kathy, always love a black stamped image over the stencilled background.
I did a post earlier this week on Alcohol Inks too. Funny how there have been a few of us. Have you seen the new colours that have been released. Beautiful brights.
