Welcome to What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Morning all

It's THAT time of the week again AND the last day of November - tomorrow it will be DECEMBER!! Yikes! In four weeks it will all be over! You anything like ready? I have to say that I started wrapping presents and now they are all wrapped AND my Christmas tree is up!! Hmm, downside? NO CRAFTING although I could argue that wrapping is creative! Just the Christmas cards to write now!

And now, since it IS WOYWW, AND I got to meet a whole bunch of crazy "deskers" last week, here's how my desk is looking

See? Christmas treeis up and decorated in the background

I'llbe linking to WOYWW #391 where my entry is #21

The 2017 Happy Little Stampers Retreat details are being launched and Kylie is canvasing interest. She is proposing to do not one but TWO retreats in 2017 one in SWINDON, and the other in MANCHESTER. Follow this link to express an interest

Welcome to the start of another week

Morning all

Having had a busy weekend (Crop all day Saturday and then pal's stopping by on Sunday) I found I really hadn't had time to craft for my "usual" weekend challenges so ... here's a post from me on a day you don't USUALLY see me ... with those weekend challenges!

My card

The inside of my card and the reverse of my envelope

The front and back of my card
Materials used:

  • 12cm square white, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Three pieces of white card cut to 9cm and 9½cm square + snippet for sentiment
  • Circle die cut from one of the 9½cm pieces and then run through my Big Shot inside a Tim Holtz embossing folder
  • Using the 9cm piece of white card I stamped the Penny Black image before sprinkling white embossing powder and heat setting
  • Using a mini blender I applied Distress Inks in festive berries and fired brick
  • I flicked water over the finished image, allowed to develop for a few second before blotting with paper towel
  • Crafters Companion spray and shine used to seal the Distress Inks
  • The Cats Pyjamas sentiment stamped on to a snippet of white card using Ranger Archival jet black ink and then fussy cut out

Welcome to a lazy Sunday morning

Morning readers,

You know, I was REALLY tempted to get up in the loft this weekend and get the Christmas tree and decorations down! Instead, I went to a crop hosted by Julia and ably assisted by Jan, in Tidworth - had a fab time. Whilst it was billed as a "crop" and scrapbooking was implied there were people knitting, crocheting, stitching, die cutting, card making, water colouring and (unless I was mistaken) I was the only one with scrpbooking on the agenda and I only managed two layouts in six hours!!! There was EASILY as much chat as crafting and plenty of cake too!!! Jan did us proud with a hot and cold lunch too - WE WUZ SPOILT! Roll on 2017 .. wanna see what I made?

I managed to snag the following pix too ..

Early days and we're not all present

Little bit later and we're all getting to know one another over coffee (and cake)

Lunch was brilliant big thanks to Jan and all who were involved in producing our lunch - THANK YOU

Ah yes, if I remember rightly, this was another cake break!

Our four legged attendee, Hamish, no cake for him!

The group shot, taken for me by Doug - thanks so much Doug
L-R (standing): Pete, Dolores, Chris, Fiona, Mary-Anne, Jan, Kyla, Livvie, Diane,
Chris, Shaz, Julia and Erika
Seated L-R: me, Margaret and Helen - not sure how we got to stay in our seats!!!!
It was so good to meet you all ... I've been trying to visit your blogs this morning but some of you aren't quite so obvious to find - if I've missed you then, my apologies.

And now for the Friday Funny, had to find this one on Facebook but it tickled my funny bone as I hope it will yours, ENJOY

A man purchased a new BMW to celebrate his wife leaving him and was out on the country roads for a nice evening drive. The breeze was blowing through what was left of his hair and he decided to open her up. As the needle jumped up to 80 mph, he suddenly saw flashing blue lights behind him. "There's no way they can catch a BMW," he thought to himself and opened her up further. The needle hit 90, 100.....Then the reality of the situation hit him. "What am I doing?" he thought and pulled over.

The police officer came up to him, took his license without a word and examined it and the car. "It's been a long hard day, this is the end of my shift and it's Friday. I don't feel like more paperwork, I don't need the frustration or the overtime, so if you can give me a really good excuse for your driving that I haven't heard before, you can go."

The guy thinks about it for a second and says, "Last week my nagging wife ran off with a cop. I was afraid you were trying to give her back!" "Have a nice weekend," said the officer.

Have a great weekend too

Welcome to What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Morning all,

How's your week coming along? I hope your lives haven't been too disrupted by Storm Angus this past week. We've had some terrific thunderstorms and some torrential rain. Thank heavens we've not personally been flooded but a number of homes in our city have been, thank heavens for our "accidental" choice to live at the top of a hill.
