Hello readers and welcome to the weekend at the Purple Palace,

Having a good weekend so far? Got much planned? Hope whatever you have planned will go really well. I've pals heading for Ally Pally and hoping they have a great time and come back laden with stash of the crafting variety! ENJOY!

On to some crafting of my own ...

My card
The front and back of my card
The inside of my card and reverse of my envelope
Materials used:
  • White 15cm square, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two white card panels cut to 13½cm square
  • One piece of dark plum card cut to 14cm square
  • Crafters Companion (NBUS, as it happens) image stamped using Vivid! plum ink
  • Creative Expressions mini dots partially stamped randomly using Memento London fog ink
  • CAS-ual Fridays sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Paper Artsy splatter image stamped using Ranger Archival cobalt blue
  • I gave the entire project a quick spray of Crafters Companion spray and shine, to seal the water based plum ink for protection against the UK's unpredictable weather in the post!

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Inky Chicks - challenge No. 81 - USE PURPLE - I'm hoping this most purpley plum will qualify
  2. Simon Says Stamp - challenge No. 5 - BIRTHDAY
  3. Addicted to Stamps & More - challenge No. 236 - ANYTHING (stamped) GOES
  4. Crafting by Design - April 11th challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Patties Creations - challenge No. 133 - SHADES OF PURPLE IN YOUR IMAGE

And now to the next make ..

My card
The front and back of my card and the front of my envelope
Interestingly enough my camera felt the need for flash for this photo and NOT for the photo below
taken about 10-15 seconds later! Weird huh?!?!?
The inside of my card and reverse of my envelope
Materials used:

  • White A2/C6, 300gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • One piece of white card cut to 13½ x 9½cm
  • Stampendous curved sentiment stamped using Versafine Majestic blue ink ... I couldn't possibly say HOW long I've owned this stamp but it is a MINIMUM of ten years and I think I've inked it less than half a dozen times!!! So, my thanks to the LIM-ettes for throwing me this "CURVE"ball!
  • Stampers Anonymous full sized crazy bird stamped (in the curved sentiment) and mini(for insert) using Ranger Archival jet black
  • Dovecraft sentiment (for insert and envelope front) stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour image
  • Faux mini crystal gemstones used to bling up the sentiment

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 323 - One Layer Card Week - CURVE
  2. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 127 - ANYTHING PAPERCRAFT GOES
  3. Brown Sugar - challenge No. 245 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Colour Crazy - challenge No. 14 - ANYTHING (hand coloured) GOES

Have a great weekend .... hope you will stop by again tomorrow as I've some photos to share, of a day out at the Westonbirt Aboretum earlier this week - would have done it today but knew I had two cards to post about!

LOVING the grungy masculine card at the top of the blog.

Cute bird with the curvy sentiment too!

Forgot about it being Ally Pally this weekend. Haven't been for years. Got too much craft stuff already!

Two great cards.I love your grungy card, a really nice composition. The sentiment of the second card is perfect for the cue of circle. The little bird needs to have happy birthday sung to him because he looks so sad.

I love the talent you have for combining different stamps, Kathy. And that crazy bird looks so at home within the sentiment circle. Great interpretation of our curve challenge.
