Welcome to the weekend, it's Saturday!

Hi there readers,

Couple of things to share with you today. I've been away for a couple of day, visiting a poorly pal - did you miss me, or wasn't I gone long enough? I had an excellent time and was delighted to find my pal in such good spirits - we had a blast, it really wasn't like sick visiting at all. She wanted to get back in to crafting so .... whilst I die cut and stuck for her she took her MISTI and stamped some image panels - between us we increased her 2017 quota by 10 and she has at least the same again planned out ... and I die cut the images/panels before I left so she can crack on - YAY!

Fearing I might be falling behind with my own quota I came up with this card design, I figured that it would easily be adapted to make a number of similar but all slightly different Christmas cards and yet .. wasn't "exactly" a Christmas image ... the images title is "Scratched Chevron"!!!! Check it out below ...

My card
And a closer view of the image panel and sparkle

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White 12.7cm square, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to 11½cm square
  • One piece of DCWV pearlescent gold card (from their metallics stack) cut to 12cm square
  • Snippets of card in both white and gold - for my image panel
  • Paper Bag Studio's "scratched chevron" stamped using Ranger Archival library green ink - IMHO makes a fab and contemporary tree
  • Stamplorations star (from the Art Marks set) stamped using Delicata golden glitz ink, as a tree topper
  • Penny Black sentiment (from their Let it Snow set) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Wide, deep green grosgrain ribbon
  • Dimensional foam tape
  • Stardust stickles to bling up my "tree"

I'll be entering the above make for week 30 of the FB Christmas card challenge and also for the following challenges:-
  1. Creative Knockouts - challenge No. 213 - LOTS OF LAYERS ... five including the ribbon layer
  2. Aud Sentiments - challenge No. 189 - A TWO WORD SENTIMENT
  3. Merry Christmas Challenge - challenge No. 36 - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES
  4. Watercooler Wednesday - challenge No. 138 - ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS
  5. Sweet Stampin' Christmas - September challenge - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES
I also made tags to match using the same image and ink and using a Hero Arts sentiment and Fiskars "to" and "from", blinging up my "tree" with stardust and gold stickles

And for my next make .. I'll be thinking about the LIM challenge theme which is WATERCOLOUR! You MIGHT see a second post from me if I can come up with something otherwise, have a great weekend

YAY! It's Fridayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Morning all,

I trust you've all had a good week? I've spent the last couple of days in Cornwall, visiting with a pal who's been poorly. This post is scheduled but I am HOPING that we shall have cracked on and made a couple of Christmas cards toward her 2017 quota!

In the meantime, I've a non Christmas make to share with you today, expect potential photo heavy post tomorrow! I'm delighted to have given this set of NBUS an outing - been in my collection a while without ever seeing ink ... April 2011 to be exact! How did that even happen? I mean, it's a nice stamp so WHY have I not used it before????? THIS is exactly why I TRY to ink up new stash before I put it away - so at least it's been used!

My card .... my MISTI came in very hand here!

I see we've reached the half way point in another week - YAY! Downhill all the way to the weekend! Lovely meal out with friends last night ... plus, I'm off to visit with a poorly pal shortly and will be home again on Friday - I've left my hubby with a list of chores to be done whilst I'm away too, just in case he thinks he can have a party!

Welcome to Monday, it's also RUDOLPH DAY!

Morning readers,

Hope you all enjoyed a tremendous weekend and are refreshed and ready to ... make Christmas cards, since it's Rudolph Day today. Here's mine for the challenge of "BAUBLES", set by a friend on a private blog I belong to.

My card, I like the idea of a singing ornament!
And a closer view of the image to show colouring and sparkle!

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • 12.7cm square white, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to 11.5cm square
  • One piece of DCWV linen texture red card, cut to 12.2cm square
  • StampaBarbara (Caroling ornament 020306 - had for like EVER!)  snowman image and Penny Black sentiment (from the giving and receiving set) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Inkadinkado sentiment (everywhere but the card front) stamped using Versafine satin red ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to add colour to the snowman bauble
  • Mod Podge gloss painted over the snowman and then, whilst wet, glamour dust liberally sprinkled, left for 30 minutes and then the excess shaken off, gives a lovely twinkle to a Christmas card. Felt good to use the glamour dust - seems to have been an age since I did and yet I do so love the effect

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:-
  1. Scraps of Life - September 25th challenge - ANYTHING (Christmas) GOES
  2. Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge - challenge No. 352 - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES
  3. Penny Black - September challenge - GET READY FOR CHRISTMAS
  4. Hiding In My Craft Room - challenge No. 319 - ANY HOLIDAY

And now ... an ATC which uses stash I've had  as NBUS ...... since February of 2010!!! AT LAST!

My ATC
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in neon pink and white
  • Inkadinkado image (NBUS .....from 60-30099 Valentine/spring assortment mini set - in my stash since FEB 2010!!!) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour  image and background
  • Woodware sentiment (FRS352 Fantasy Land set) stamped on to a snippet of white card using Memento tuxedo black and then "pounced" with Hero Arts neon pink ink
  • Masking a strip for the sentiment to be attached I sprayed Crafters Companion spray and shine over the ATC and, whilst wet, applied a liberal coating of glamour dust ... left it for a while, shook off the excess back in to the pot and then attached the sentiment before applying a sealant coat of spray and shine over the top ..... to stop any loose glitter floating about the place!

Welcome to Friday ... the weekend starts here!

Morning readers,

Hope you've had a great week. Arguably, mine's been a bit "bitty" with very little working out QUITE to plan but hey, there will be other weeks when EVERYTHING goes to plan so it's good to mix it up, right?

Managed to hit the ToC (Table of Craftiness) pretty hard this week too, I was rummaging through my drawers (oo-er missus) and came across this little gem - had it for YEARS and decided it was high time it saw ink again .... I think you'll agree. I stand to be corrected but I THINK I probably bought this stamp in 2008/2009!
