A Sunday post? Yes, I'm out of the habit but .....

Morning all

Yes, it's a Sunday post!!! I've had a craft-y old week so decided to pop an extra post in this week - whether you regard it as a treat or just a surprise is up to you!

I spent a few days with a pal, the object of the exercise was to see how she was doing following an operation and to get her mojo directed towards come Christmas cards - that seemed to work as she now has ten to add to her collection. I only made myself one and only then because I wanted to see how the Distress Oxides stamp .....

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White 12.7cm square, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to 11.5cm square
  • One piece of red card cut to 12.1cm square
  • Inkadinkado snowman image stamped using Distress Oxide black soot ink
  • Inkadinkado sentiment stamped using  Distress Oxide candied apple ink
  • Stardust stickles to bling up my snowman
There is no photo of my stash today as I used the stash belonging to my pal. I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge - challenge No. 353 - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES
  2. Jo's Scrap Shack - challenge No. 208 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Merry Christmas Challenge - challenge No. 36 - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES
  4. WaterCooler Wednesday - challenge No. 138 - ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS
  5. Kraftin' Kimmie - challenge No. 401 - HOLIDAY CARD

And now for the LIM entry I never quite got round to making yesterday ..

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White 12.7cm, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to 11.5cm square
  • One piece of DCWV textured dark orange card cut to 12.1cm square
  • Dark Room Door butterfly (NBUS - thanks, Di) stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Peerless water colours used to add colour
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black and the matching border using Ranger Archival monarch orange (coincidentally the name of a butterfly!!!)
  • Anita's 3D gloss and stardust stickles to bling it up a bit!

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 348 - WATER COLOUR
  2. DJKardKreations - NBUS challenge No. 12 - NEVER BEFORE USED STASH (the DRD butterfly)
  3. Catch The Bug - September 30th challenge - KEEP IT SIMPLE RECIPE (one layer of paper, one word sentiment and one embellishment) ... I've looked at the DT examples and one matting layer appears to be allowable

Two super stunners Kathy and love that monochromatic look on the first one with the little pop of RED. The rich watercolours of your butterfly on the second one really make the image pop beautifully and a totally eye-catching card. Have a good week and thanks for playing at Less is More

Two great cards Kathy and the oxides have worked beautifully on the snowman and sentiment and some lovely sparkle on the snowman, then the prettily watercoloured butterfly which is gorgeous, and adore the orange for layering. x

I love your cards, Kathy, especially that sweet snowman. The Oxides stamp beautifully from the looks of it. I love the elegant simplicity of your black and white with red. Beautifully done, especially with that added bit of shine to your snowman. Love the way you've continued with the snowman onto the envelope and inside the card. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
