Hi, another post using Christmas stash!

Morning all

I love to use stash before it hits the drawer (in case I forget about it ... it HAS happened!) and this main image today was a Christmas gift from my dear hubby. It just cried out to be CAS to the Nth degree, on this occasion, perfect for a masculine card - IMHO! Mind you .. I keep looking at it and thinking about a skyline and reflection in water - that might be my next project!

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 300gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two white card panels cut to fit and one of maroon, cut to mat
  • Bee Crafty (Soundwaves) image stamped using Versafine crimson red ink
  • Happy Little Stampers (Butterfly Birthday) sentiment stamped using Tim Holtz Distress mixed media ink in black soot

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Pause, Dream, Enjoy - challenge No. 3 - PHOTO INSPIRATION (see below) I took the red and the white along with the linear design, I thought it would make a change from Christmas cards!
  2. CraftaholicsRus - challenge No. 3 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Water Cooler Wednesday - challenge No. 153 - MASCULINE
  4. Deep Ocean - challenge No. 172 - SOMETHING NEW (Christmas gift and this was its inaugural inking)
  5. Stampavie - challenge No. 297 - SOMETHING NEW (see above)

And now for another make using the FAB-u-LOUS Katzelkraft "Le Jungles" ... and yes, I DO know that you don't see too many blue monkeys but .... my pal is partial to the colour! I can share this as I happen to know she's received it!

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 300gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit at 13cm x 9cm
  • One piece of navy card cut to mat at 13½cm x 10cm
  • Snippets of card in white and navy, for the sentiment
  • Katzelkraft zen monkey (from Les Jungles - KTZ168) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • The Cats Pyjamas sentiment (from S5845-CL) stamped using Memento Paris dusk ink
  • Precious Remembrance Shop chevron image (from DIY Stamp Set) stamped using Memento London fog ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour the image
  • Stardust stickles used to "bling it up"

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Fab 'n Funky - January 17th challenge - GIRLY
  2. Sunny Day Crafting - challenge No. 3 - "C" is for COLOUR IT
  3. Crafty Gals Corner - challenge No. 157 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Cute Card Thursday - challenge No. 513 - SOMETHING FUN!
  5. Moving Along With The Times - challenge No. 63 - CAS (Clean And Simple)
I've a couple of friends who definitely didn't have a good day yesterday for one reason or another and I'd like to say "Thinking of you ladies" - Lilian, Clare and Debbie

Your music sound waves work well here Kathy, and you are right that it could be a skyline and reflection, and the obvious musical type card too, but this looks great for a CAS birthday, and then your sweet blue monkey with sat upon the sentiment border and the open chevrons look great, a bit like arrows pointing to the words, a great idea. Hope your week has been good and enjoy your weekend. x

Wow, Kathy, you're right about that sound-wave being clean and simple to the Nth degree. Great look, though, and perfect for any occasion, especially for that more difficult masculine card. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

Two fabulous cards. I think the monkey is just very cold given the current weather!

What a great image Kathy. I agree it has so many possibilities! This card is a very clever use of the image. So very CAS! I always love red on a crisp white background! Thanks so much for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week!

Great masculine card Kath. Very CAS and masculine. I have to admit I didn't see the sound wave or the trees and mountains, I honestly saw it as a heart beat or ecogram reading. Too funny. Since my husband who thinks like me has heart issues, he'd probably think I was telling him to go for his yearly checkup. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Masculine Challenge this week.
