Weekend plans? Got a little video you might like ...

Morning,

Hope you all have something good to look forward to this weekend. Last weekend was busy for us so we're just taking this one as it comes! Hope to take some time at the ToC (that's Table of Craftiness).

Well, you know how it is sometimes ..... you are minding your own business secure in the knowledge the next card you make is going to feature a heart .... then WHAM! You get sideswiped by a youtube video and the card you make looks NOTHING LIKE your intended make! That's how it was with me - this was SO going to be a twofer for Darnell's "HEARTS" challenge and yet it's so plainly not - nothing for it but to return to the ToC and make that heart challenge .... maybe tomorrow!

My card
And a closer view of the "ice"

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Black, grey, white and silver mirri card
  • MFT faux stitched layering rectangle dies
  • Glitter washi tape
  • Ranger Archival jet black and Versamark inks
  • Heat It up clear embossing powder and a heat gun
  • Clearly Inspired coneflower image, from LCS100 Brushed flowers
  • Chapel Road sentiment from Vertical Greetings A

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Catch The Bug - February 10th challenge - WALKING IN A WASHI WONDERLAND (use washi tape)
  2. Dragonfly Dreams - February challenge - FLOWERS
  3. Stamping Sensations - February challenge - must stamp + ANYTHING WITH FLOWERS
  4. Crafty Sentiments - February 13th challenge - ADD FLOWERS
  5. Paper Minutes - challenge No. 525 - USE GLOSSY PAPER/CARD - I used mirri cardstock, hope that counts
This used a new (to me) technique which I believe is known as the Black Ice technique ... this technique would ROCK masculine cards

And now for something (in the words of Monty Python ...) COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!! I got some new stash earlier this week and, wouldn't you know it? It was just itching to get inked, I was powerless to resist!

My ATC
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in pearlescent grey and white
  • Stamplorations film edge image (from Art Marks) stamped around the outer edge of the pearlescent grey panel using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Woodware image and sentiment (from JGS550) stamped on to the white snippet using Memento tuxedo black
  • I used sharpie markers (for the chicken) and copic markers for the background using Faber Castell polychromos pencils to add shading
  • Stardust stickles to add some bling - you can never have too much bling on your funky chicken - IMHO!

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:-
  1. Her Peaceful Garden - week 2 ATC party - AND THE CHICKENS
  2. Pause, Dream, Enjoy - challenge No. 7 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Inspiration Destination - challenge No. 144 - ANYTHING GOES + optional twist (used) of REAL STAMP
  4. Crafty Creations - challenge No. 360 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Penny's Paper Crafty - challenge No. 367 - ANYTHING GOES

Super card and ATC, Kathy. I know what you mean about getting distracted and finishing up with something totally different from what you intended to make. LOL! xx

This black ice technique isn't something I have heard about before Kathy, but you certainly rocked it. I love the coneflower you have used, and the layers work beautifully. The ATC with that cute chicken is so prettily coloured and with a fun sentiment too. x

Okay....I got totally distracted from commenting on your sweet chicken ATC when I saw that AWESOME Black Ice technique card. Oh, my...your card is just stunning. I LOVE this look you achieved and had to watch the YouTube before I went any farther!! I am sooooo going to try this.

Love this wonderful chicken image....such fun patterns and hilarious posture. Love how you colored her in these happy hues and the blingy accents. A very funky chicken, indeed, and most EGG-cellent ATC! :)

Thank you so much for joining in my ATC BD party!!
