Whoop de doo .... it's another weekend!

Morning all,

WARNING: Photo heavy post - you might need coffee before reading!

Thank you to my new follower, Sam, welcome, hope you will stop by again soon.

I started my craft shares today by making what might be termed a masterboard ... I hesitate to call it so though, as it IS only brayered paint rather than mixed media piece with stamping, stencilling and the like but - you call it what you want (as long as you keep it polite!)

Simply brayering fresco dolly mixture, squid ink and orchid paints, whilst still leaving some white space
... I then set it aside to dry
Then it was on to cutting up my piece .. which was only a little larger than A5, I wondered just how many projects I could make with it. My first card is a little different from my usual, these days, not even a little bit CAS really!!! That said, I really enjoyed the experience and the image is FAB (Moth fab in fact!!!)

My card
And a closer view of my image panel - without the
reflective glare from the camera flash
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White 12½cm square, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Grey card and Costco double sided card cut to fit and distressed with Ranger Archival jet black ink which I "swiped" down the panels
  • I cut a panel from my masterboard and stamped my Stampotique design (Moth Fab) on it using Ranger Archival jet black in, stamping a second time on to white card
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour image and, once finished I fussy cut round her .... not worrying too much if I snipped a bit off the dangly bits (from her hair and skirt) as I already had those stamped on the masterboard panel
  • I stamped my Stamplorations coffee ring (from Holiday Artsy) and my Kaisercraft large coffee ring (from the set entitled "Stains") using Ranger Archival watering can ink
  • Grey grosgrain ribbon attached using double sided tape
  • Dimensional foam tape used to attach my image panel to card base
  • For the insert, back of my card and my envelope I stamped the sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Birthday using Memento tuxedo black ink

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Addicted to Stamps - challenge No. 161 - Have a Heart .. check out Moth Fab's bag
  2. Corrosive Challenge - challenge No. 2 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Love2Create - challenge No. 5 - ANYTHING MIXED MEDIA GOES
  4. Get Creative - challenge No. 66 - USE RIBBON or WASHI TAPE (I used ribbon)
  5. Simon Says Stamp - Monday challenge - GRUNGE IT UP
Next - this one was back in my "wheelhouse", being really CAS - I don't often use dies so, here was a perfect opportunity .....

My card
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope
Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to 13½cm x 9½cm
  • Piece of my masterboard cut to 13cm x 9cm
  • MFT numbers dies (MFT091 By the numbers) cut from one piece of the white card and laid over the masterboard
  • Hampton Art sentiment (from SCO170 Birthday set) stamped using MFT black licorice hybrid ink

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Happy Little Stampers - February dies challenge - ANYTHING GOES WITH DIES
  2. Penny's Paper Crafty - challenge No. 359 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. CraftaholicsRUs - challenge No. 8 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Seize The Birthday - February 15th challenge - BIRTHDAY with (unused) optional twist of COFFEE OR TEA

Another card, hopefully you'll join me in thinking these are all a little bit different ...

My card
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of DCWV textured plum coloured card, cut to mat
  • Snippet of my masterboard card and a snippet of DCWV textured light grey card (left over from my Wednesday card make) and die cut using MFT faux stitched nesting rectangle dies
  • Penny Black Iris image (from their Allegro set) stamped using MFT black licorice hybrid ink, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set, twice - to give gloss and texture
  • Hero Arts sentiment (from set CL343) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink

I'll be entering the above for the the following challenges:-
  1. Colour Throwdown - challenge No. 481 - COLOUR CHALLENGE - see below
  2. Inspiration Destination - challenge No. 44 - USE A REAL STAMP
  3. Artistic Inspirations - challenge No. 194 - ANYTHING GOES + optional twist to USE FLOWER/S
  4. Crafty Sentiments - February 20th challenge - SPRING
  5. Just Add Ink - challenge No. 397 - JUST ADD "H" .... my "H" was HEAT embossing!

And finally .... an ATC as I still had a little of my masterboard left, has to be said, there's really not enough left to make anything else!

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippet of my masterboard, cut to fit
  • That Special Touch "distressed dots" stencilled using white acrylic paint
  • Tim Holtz mini stencil from set #28, stencilled using Luna Lites ... (see below)
  • Stamplorations images (from Art Marks) stamped using Ranger Archival jet black and watering can inks

For those of you unfamiliar with the luna lites - this little pot of gorgeousness is a fab deep iridescent red and just glorious for adding depth and sheen. I've had mine for YEARS and I'm not even sure you can still obtain it. I looked at the label and it was originally produced by Stamp Oasis of Las Vegas, and an address on Sahara Avenue .... which just so happens to be very close to Viva Las Vegas stamps so I find myself wondering if they took over Stamp Oasis and whether they now produce these fab paints - might have to Google ... but, does anyone actually KNOW the answer?

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. More Mixed media - February 5th challenge - ANYTHING Mixed Media GOES + OPTIONAL TWIST TO USE RED
  2. Stamplorations - February challenge - PAINT IT RED
  3. Make My Monday - challenge No. 65 - MESSY BACKGROUNDS
  4. Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday challenge - MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND
  5. Three Muses - February 19th challenge - A LITTLE BIT OF GRUNGE

Hard to say which was my favourite really, as I enjoyed making all of them, thanks for stopping by and for persevering to the end of this post!

The masterboard is something I only read about a little while ago and you have stretched it to the max on your four beautiful cards Kathy. I think my favourite is the Iris and the soft grey and pink look great with it, but they are all wonderful designs. x
