Welcome to the first Monday in April

Morning all,

Hope you've been enjoying your Easter break ... with the chilly weather, the rain and even the threat of snow ... we didn't get any actual snow but I hear that not everyone was so lucky.

It's been more a case of stay in and craft .... so I did. I recently cracked open the Penny Black set of clear stamps "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and here's another one - this time for day FOUR ...

My card
And a closer view of the image panel

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • 12cm square white, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of pearlescent gold card cut to mat
  • Snippets of card in white and gold
  • I computer generated the "on the fourth day" sentiment before matting on to a gold card snippet
  • Penny Black image and matching sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour
  • Stardust stickles used to bling up the number 4 and the snow
Precious Remembrance Shop "Sketchy Christmas" and Penny Black 30-016 "12 Days
of Christmas"
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Sparkles Christmas Challenge - April challenge - FEATURE A CREATURE
  2. Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge - challenge No. 379 - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES ... there's an optional theme of stars but I didn't use that .. unless you count those four calling birds as stars!!!
  3. Colour Crazy - challenge No. 13 - ANYTHING (HAND COLOURED) GOES
  4. Winter Wonderland - March 30th challenge - ANIMALS
  5. Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - March challenge - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES

Ha ha ha . . . four CALLING BIRDS! That's neat! Brilliant festive make.

Yes, the weekend sure has had PERFECT CRAFTING WEATHER! Good job I had plenty of stamps and ink and paper to keep me entertained because TV has been RUBBISH!

This PB stamp with the cute chickens is such fun and you have coloured it beautifully Kathy and I love the way you have layered with gold and placed everything at an angle which goes well with the quirky nature of the image, and such a pretty card. The weather has been so awful with torrential rain, but it seemed better yesterday afternoon so decided to go for a walk along the prom at a beach about half an hour away, but we hadn't even got there when the rain came down again so we never even got out of the car, just had a little drive round and home. There is a little hint of sunshine at the moment but the clouds are still low, so not sure if we will try again today. x

GREAT card Kathy! I've had that same set of stamps languishing here for ages because the images seem so small. What a corker of an idea to make a row of four of those chooks!! You really are a genius my friend! I won't say I'd go up to as many as eight or more of the other images but this really has sparked my interest in the set again. Now, tell me - did you mask them to do the stamping? My guess is that you must have done - so clever! And perfect colouring as well - love that their baggies match their phones :)

Hugs

Di xx
