Welcome to the start of a new week - but it's a Bank Holiday

Morning all,

Noticed that, with the introduction of the new GDPR, you no longer receive notifications of comments on your blog? Me too!!! My friend, the lovely Darnell, posted on her blog about it too .... her suggestion is that, once you've posted, immediately leave yourself a comment. As you do so you should see a box appear which says "e-mail follow up comments to ....@gmail" - if you check that box before publishing your comment then  you SHOULD start to receive them once more - let me know how that works out for you and THANK YOU DARNELL. Now all I have to do is remember to check my gmail account regularly - which I haven't been doing up to now!

OK, .... it was a Bank Holiday weekend so you KNOW it rained! Nothing for it but to stay in and craft. Not that it was cold - just dank!, naturally my thoughts gravitated toward Christmas cards (like they do)

Saturday crafting ...

Hi there readers,

Well, what a great welcome home - rain! Mind you, I SHOULDN'T be surprised since it IS a Bank Holiday weekend and the one earlier in the month was glorious so ..... methinks it must be a "stay in and craft" day!

Cracked the seal on a recent acquisition (the Art Impressions get well set) and here's an ATC I made using it on kraft card. I don't do this often enough which is such a shame as coloured pencils work so beautifully on kraft card - hope you agree

Half way through the week ...

Morning all,

A little while back I saw a fabulous card from Paula Whitaker and was taken with her work .... her make was in yellow and grey but I decided to experiment with pink and, aside from discovering my rosebud ink pad has all but dried out, I'd like to think it was a success ...... perhaps because of the pale pastel of the dried out ink!

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope
Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of grey card, cut to mat
  • On the smaller piece of white card I used washi tape to mask off a border before applying Memento inks in rosebud (almost time to replace!) and London fog using the Aldi blending brushes (see photo below)
  • Using the Imagination Crafts stencil I applied London fog ink through the chevron, circles and dots areas of the stencil
  • Sunshine Designs foliage image stamped using the London fog ink
  • HLS sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Paper Mania mini faux crystal gemstones applied (using my trusty pokey tool) to bling up the foliage images
PaperMania faux crystals, Imagination Crafts mixed media stencil,
HLS doodled flowers, Sunshine Designs CPSD078D
And now for an ATC, I used to make so many but not so much these days as I don't swap as many as I used to either, however, this image and sentiment seemed just perfect for an ATC - hope you agree.

My ATC
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in purple and white
  • Image and sentiment stamped using black ink, including image on to scrap paper which I then cut out and used as a mask
  • With my mask in place I taped my stencil down and applied the pink ink through it, using a brush
  • Splatter image stamped using the same pink ink
  • Pencils used to colour image
  • I doodled the white border and then blinged up the lady's frock with my glitter pen
Prismacolour scholar pencils Tim Holtz stencil, Recollections splatter and the SU knock off
set of "Beautiful You" that I bought in good faith recently, Memento rosebud and tuxedo black inks
Tsukineko gelly roll gel pen (white) and Wink of Stella clear glitter gel pen

Alright, new week, new start

Morning all,

Ever see a card you just have to CASE? Well, I came across a card by Paula Whitaker, which she had made for Bee Crafty. I had no idea which stamps/stencils/inks she used but this was the card I made using her inspiration. I hope you will pop along to her blog, using the link above) and give her some good feedback, if you like my interpretation of her card. I've tried to vary my design from hers as I have no wish to copy .... just lift some inspiration but, I won't be entering this for any challenges.
