And.... it's NEARLY the weekend

Morning readers,

Had a good week? I sure have ...... though it has to be said that the weather's been kind of changeable! The forecasters reckon summer should be back this weekend ... and yet, it IS a Bank Holiday weekend so pardon me if I'm a little sceptical on that front!

Hubby's spent many a happy hour either hedge cutting or at the model flying field so I've been able to craft without guilt hence there being a Friday post again this week ....... today's make is a masculine card featuring one of my absolute fave techniques, that of layering stamps!

Welcome to hump day Wednesday

Morning readers,

Hope your week is coming along well and that you are ready for the Bank Holiday weekend coming up!

I've found a little time to hit the Table of Craftiness with this colourful make below, time to deploy some underused Lavinia images that I've had a while as well as a fairly elderly sentiment stamp set!

My card
A close up of the image panel

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of purple card, cut to mat
  • Lavinia Stamps graduated circles images stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink (I've had these circles for ages and found a make using them in late August of 2016)
  • Imagine That sentiment (from "Write Big #2" - acquired in August of 2012) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Pro Markers used to colour: Magenta, Turquoise, Pumpkin, Lime, Orchid, Canary, Leaf Green and Aegean
  • Kaisercraft purple metallic glitter gel pen - to add twinkle to the central circle

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Freshly Made Sketches - challenge No. 400 - SKETCH - see below .. oops, turns out I was too late for this one after all!

  6. I Love Pro Markers - challenge No. 391 - ANYTHING GOES (using Pro Markers)
 RRCB 117

Started a journal page yesterday - it looked OK initially (in fact, I really quite liked it) but then I made a bad choice .... it was either the stencil, paint or both - either way, it went to hell in a handcart!! AKA "the bin"

It was fine till I added a large stencilled flower in orchid - one or the other
was a dreadful mistake and I couldn't put money on which was the issue
So, it was seconds out ... round two!

My journal page
Materials used:
  • One page of my Crawford and Black journal
  • Paper Artsy paints: banana and London bus - applied with a barely moist baby wipe
  • Paper Artsy sentiment (take time .....) and flower border (from JOFY09) stamped using Ranger Archival onyx black ink
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment (Life ....), circle and oval design (by Wendy Vecchi "The Gift of Art" - SCS141) stamped using Versafine Clair tulip red, pinecome and purple delight - which needed to dry before the next step
  • Peerless watercolours used to colour my flower border, aided by a waterbrush

  1. More Mixed Media - August challenge - ANYTHING (mixed media) GOES + (optional) BRIGHT

Welcome to another week

Morning readers,

I trust you all enjoyed your weekend? It was surrogate grandsons birthday recently so there was a birthday party to attend at the weekend - such a shame the weather was so changeable, it was looking like an indoor event but, in the end, it turned out to be a pleasant afternoon and evening weather wise. The party? Well, that was a success too, and surrogate grandson is now officially SEVEN!

Anyhoo, with the weather alternating between hot/sticky and cold/miserable I have to say that my thoughts turned to CHRISTMAS CARDS ...... plus I still have quite a few to make!

I've been trying to get in to the habit of taking a daily walk and was doing quite well at dodging the showers of the past week or so. The Friday forecast was horrid from about 09:00 onward so I thought I'd best get up and out or run the risk of missing my window of opportunity. I chose my route so it would be in the shelter of trees, in case the rain started early! Pheww! As I headed down the path to the front door it started to rain! - pretty much didn't stop the rest of the day either!

Friday post appears to be back!!!!

Morning readers,

Well, this week anyway ..... you probably guessed it wouldn't be too long before a Friday post reappeared! Been having a busy week at the Table of Craftiness and I decided that three items in one post was probably too many so, after Wednesday's threefer, I thought I'd pop in a Friday post, otherwise Saturday would be a threefer too!!!

I really wasn't sure at this point because I could see the circuit board image through the focal image.
