I have spoken to a number of people who've been suffering with the same bug and they're all agreed this these germs can hang around for up to seven weeks. If you are one of those in the throes then ... feel better soon peeps.

I've not made many trips to my Table of Craftiness and, if you are a regular visitor to this blog, you will have spotted that I've missed some of my regular posting days (Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun) and now you know why ... I do hope that normal service has resumed but ... we shall see!

In the meantime, I DO have a make to share with you today ... thought I'd break myself back in gently, with an ATC and some therapeutic colouring!

Friday ... and the start of the weekend!

Morning readers,

I'm still wrestling with the pesky flu and, frankly, haven't really felt like doing much of anything. I was all set to simply not post today but ... I was struck with an idea for the ATC below and thought I might as well give it a go. The thing with this flu bug (as I'm sure many will attest) is that you just don't feel up to doing much but, being an ATC, it didn't take concentration for a great length of time! I'm actually quite pleased with him, AND I got to ink more new stash - having recently acquired the Katzelkraft set KTZ212

My Artist Trading Card
And a closer view, to show the colouring
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in white and moss green
  • On the green snippet I stamped my Kaisercraft mini grid and film edge images along with the edge images from Creative Expressions CEC851 ("Inspiring Edges") using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Using a snippet of white card I stamped my Katzelkraft image (KTZ212) using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour image, copic markers to outline the image, which I then fussy cut out before adhering to my ATC
  • Tim Holtz Idea-ology sticker (cut in two), to finish
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Through The Craft Room Door - February 12th challenge - ANYTHING GOES - 2nd entry
  2. Papercraft Challenges - challenge No. 30 - SOMETHING NEW (my Katzelkraft image)
  3. Tiddly Inks - challenge No. 222 - ATC fun - 2nd entry
  4. Penny's Paper Crafty - challenge No. 417 - ANYTHING GOES
Yesterday, I met up with a pal of mine, for coffee, I took the car despite the  fact it wasn't that far away but .. I was still exhausted by the time I got home - guess it's safe to say ... STILL RECOVERING!

I found out yesterday that I was the re-picked winner over at Creative Knockouts, for their challenge #282, thanks peeps

Wednesday - downhill to Friday now!

Morning readers,

You may have noticed that I've not been quite as prolific in blogland lately - been struggling with a wicked bout of flu and, no sooner do I think I've turned a corner, then I find myself feeling really rubbish again. I'd said goodbye once to this sinus-y headache so why's it back?

Ah well, it's knocked me sideways and no mistake, there's been a positive crafting drought at the Purple Palace of late! Anyway, yesterday I DID head to the Table of Craftiness and here is what I made .....

My Artist Trading Coin

  • Snippets of card in white and orange
  • Nesting circular dies used to cut the ATCoin circles
  • On the smaller circle I stamped my image and sentiment using Versafine Clair nocturne ink which I heat set using clear embossing powder

  • Tim Holtz mini stencil set #035 (I used all three stencils) using Memento London fog, dandelion and tangelo inks in conjunction with Aldi stencil brushes

  4. Tiddly Inks - challenge No. 222 - ATC FUN ... though I'm hoping COIN works as well as CARD

TGIF and the weekend's almost here!

Morning readers,

Thought it had been a while since I had made a tag and, since it was surrogate daughter #2's birthday, I needed to wrap her gift ....... here's what I made . . . .

My tag
 Materials used:
  • Snippets of card in white, black and cerise mirri card
  • Rubber Stampede image (3752F) and sentiment (The Cats Pyjamas S-5845-CL) stamped on to the white snippet using Versafine Claire nocturne ink
  • Alcohol markers and Sakura gelly roll glitter gel pens used to add colour
  • Using my Crop-a-dile I punched a hole in my tag and then used it to set the star shaped eyelet too
And how did it look on the gift? Well, with the addition of some gold edged maroon satin ribbon (from Michaels) it looked like this! Wonder if she'll guess what's inside!

And now for another Artist Trading Card, sometimes I forget how much fun these small scale projects can be ..

My Artist Trading Card
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in blue and white
  • On the white Snippet I stamped the character (Katzelkraft KTZ212) using Memento tuxedo black ink and the sentiment (PRS "DIY") using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • A combination of Copic markers and Faber Castell polychromos pencils was used to colour the image
  • Tim Holtz mini stencil (set #35) was placed over my image and, using an Aldi stencil brush, I applied Ranger Archival vibrant fuchsia around the image
  • Anita's dimensional gloss applied to the eyes
  • Diamond stickles to highlight some of the character detail

It's the birthday of a number of friends today so please join me in wishing Becky, Kylie, Maggi, Sally and Sue a very
