Saturday - and leap year Saturday at that!

Morning readers,

With storm Jorge due to hit much of the UK this weekend, it's the third consecutive weekend of stormy weather and, as I imagine you are too, I'm soooo over it!! Bring on the sunshine!

I've a make to share with you today ....


My card
 
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of textured deep red card, cut to mat
  • One piece of scrap card with a die cut circle aperture, which I used as a mask
  • With my mask in place and using an Aldi stencil brush I applied Memento grey flannel ink before placing my Tim Holtz mini stencil (from set #24) and applying the same ink through the stencil
  • After removing the mask I stamped my TCP sentiment (from S.5845-CL) using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Honey Bee heart full of hearts image (from HBST-218) stamped using Versafine Clair tulip red ink
  • Stardust stickles to bling up those mini hearts

My Artist Trading Card
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in gold, textured hot pink and white
  • On the white snippet I overlaid my Tim Holtz Mini Stencil (from set #20) before applying Memento grey flannel ink using an Aldi stencil brush
  • Coneflower image (from LCS100 - "Brushed flowers") stamped using Versafine Clair purple delight ink
  • PRS sentiment (from "New Day") stamped using Versafine Clair twilight ink
  • Stardust stickles used to bling up my ATC

Friday - look out! Here comes another weekend!

I've a make to share with you today ....but first .... this make isn't truly CAS (Clean And Simple) but there's still plenty of "white space" free from image/sentiment/texture so - does that still make it CAS? I'm also loving the warm and "firey" colours!

  • White C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of hot pink card, cut to mat
  • PRS feather (from their "New Day" set) stamped in Ranger Archival vibrant fuchsia and monarch orange inks
  • Ranger Letter-It sentiment (from a magazine "gift" set) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Stardust stickles used to bling up the feather and text

And now, for my next trick ..... a Christmas card? What? It's only February I hear you cry!

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of textured deep red card, cut to mat
  • Funstamps Snowman image (F-C50 fun snowman small) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink, including one impression on to a full coverage post it which I then cut out to use as a mask
  • With my mask in place I stamped the Simon Says falling snow image (from SSS101503 "Falling backgrounds") using Memento London fog ink
  • Craft Emotions sentiment (from 130501/1813 "Hand lettered sentiments") stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink 
  • Copic alcohol markers, Kaisercraft red glitter gel pen and Wink of Stella clear glitter gel brush pen used to colour my image
  • Stardust stickles to bling up the snow and trace the large font of the sentiment

Sadly, one of our surrogate family has been in hospital this past week so we visited on Tuesday, relieved to find him making a recovery though a little shocked by the circumstances leading to his hospitalisation. Thankfully, he's now been discharged from hospital - Get well soon matey ... we did our best to celebrate the fact that you ARE recovering

Wednesday and it's downhill to the weekend - YAY!

  • Penny Black tree image (from "Giving and Receiving") stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Penny Black sentiment (from the above set) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Penny Black snowflake image (from the same set) stamped using Ranger Archival cobalt blue ink
  • Copic alcohol markers to add colour to the tree 
  • Stardust stickles to bling up the image and snowflakes

Monday - look out, here comes another week!

I've a make to share with you today .... I really like it despite stamping the sentiment on the card front thinking that was the insert and vice versa (as you can see in the thumbnail) DOH!!! Still, there are no mistakes in art, only happy accidents. I can't enter it for the "one corner" challenge but hey, all good! - it COULD have been worse, I could have assembled it upside down on either the outside or inside! Ever done that? Annoying isn't it?

  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • Two pieces of card, cut to mat, one in pearlised gold and the other in hot pink
  • Using a Tim Holtz mini stencil (from set #24) I applied Memento rosebud ink with an Aldi stencil brush
  • TCP sentiment (from S.5845-CL) stamped using Versafine morning mist ink
  • Honey Bee heart image (from HBST218) stamped using Versafine Clair purple delight ink
  • Stardust stickles applied to the polka dots of the heart to bling it up

Saturday - how's it going?

Hope you've all had a good week despite the best efforts of the great British weather to dampen our spirits (our clothes, hair etc!).

I've a make to share with you today .... I appear to be in my "stencilling" phase right now ...

  • White C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of deep purple card, cut to mat
  • Using an Aldi stencil brush and one of the Tim Holtz mini stencils (from set #35) I applied Ranger Archival majestic purple to my chosen corner
  • Hero Arts script (H2365 - "Old Writing") stamped using Memento rosebud ink - Pre 2009 so definitely OLDER SUPPLIES
  • Penny Black Iris image (from "Allegra) stamped using Versafine Clair purple delight ink - I've had this set for many years too!
  • Hampton Arts sentiment (which I've had so long I no longer have the set name or item number) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Stardust stickles to bling up my iris

Friday - the weekend is close - I can feel it!!!

  • Paper Artsy sentiment (from JOFY17) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Copic markers and Kaisercraft glitter gel pens used to colour image
  • Stardust stickles and Anita's dimensional gloss to "bling up" my snowie!

And, since making three giant blankets I've been kind of missing having something to crochet so ... whilst out with my pal earlier this week I bought some wool. Hubby was out that same evening so I sat and crocheted .......... and crocheted! Next thing I knew it was 10pm and I'd about finished!

  • 1 x 150g ball of wool from Poundstretcher (or whatever they call themselves these days!)
  • 4.5mm crochet hook 
  • Wool needle to sew together and neaten ends
