TGIF! Bring on the weekend!

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ....... I knew it had been a while since I'd done any journaling but I hadn't realised that it was back in 2019 that I last took out my journal!! CRIKEY! So, I owe a debt of gratitude to the peeps at the Snippets Playground, for gifting me this perfect Inkylicious image, in one of their draws, which encouraged me to reach for my journal once again. Friday and probably the last of my "virtual" crafting weekend makes .... or is it?

Morning readers

If you've visited my blog since last weekend then you will know that I SHOULD have been crafting with some pals. Due to the current restrictions in place, courtesy of the Covid-19 pandemic, that had to be rescheduled. We'd been so looking forward to a get together and I had acquired a set of stamps (identical sets, one for each of us - the set appears bottom right in the "materials" pic) so I challenged my pals to use these stamps over the weekend to make as many and varied projects as we felt able, in the time. We had a video chat on Sunday and it turned in to a show and tell! I've already shared a few makes (Monday and Wednesday) and have another make to share with you today .... I have managed (over the course of the weekend's crafting) to ink each and every stamp in the set .... YAY! Come on, own up, how many of us have sets of stamps with one (or more) image that has NEVER seen ink?, this was obviously a very useful set of images, I can see them getting a lot of use.

In the latter half of 2019 I had a bit of a health scare and was advised to take up some form of exercise ... I chose walking. Turns out that I really quite enjoy my morning walks and .... apparently, I DO LOVE a footpath! Where we live is semi rural and there are some lovely walks around me and within easy reach. I took a familiar walk recently but spotted a stile/footpath so decided to take a detour! Wander with me, if you have a moment ...

Who remembers Bill and Ben the Flowerpot men? Didn't expect to meet them on my walk!
And, finally ..... sat in my garden the other evening ... imagine my surprise to look up and see ... a skywritten smiley - apparently, it made the news too!

And, yes, I confess ... it's another Christmas card - at this rate I'll soon be working on my 2021 quota!! I've been rummaging through my drawers of Christmas stamps and trying to use some neglected images - I own some lovely stamps but they've ended up at the back of the drawer. Now this one's not your traditional Christmas stamp which is why I went with a non traditional Christmas colour too - neon pink! Such a great company name too (Ducks in a row) ... I WONDER if they're still trading?

Welcome to hump day Wednesday

Morning readers,

Hope your week is coming along well and that you are ready for the Bank Holiday weekend coming up!

I've found a little time to hit the Table of Craftiness with this colourful make below, time to deploy some underused Lavinia images that I've had a while as well as a fairly elderly sentiment stamp set!

My card
A close up of the image panel

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of purple card, cut to mat
  • Lavinia Stamps graduated circles images stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink (I've had these circles for ages and found a make using them in late August of 2016)
  • Imagine That sentiment (from "Write Big #2" - acquired in August of 2012) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Pro Markers used to colour: Magenta, Turquoise, Pumpkin, Lime, Orchid, Canary, Leaf Green and Aegean
  • Kaisercraft purple metallic glitter gel pen - to add twinkle to the central circle

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Freshly Made Sketches - challenge No. 400 - SKETCH - see below .. oops, turns out I was too late for this one after all!
  2. Imagine That - challenge No. 7 - ANYTHING GOES (using I.T. product)
  3. Sweet Stampin - August 17th challenge - CAS (Clean And Simple)

  6. I Love Pro Markers - challenge No. 391 - ANYTHING GOES (using Pro Markers)
 RRCB 117

Started a journal page yesterday - it looked OK initially (in fact, I really quite liked it) but then I made a bad choice .... it was either the stencil, paint or both - either way, it went to hell in a handcart!! AKA "the bin"

It was fine till I added a large stencilled flower in orchid - one or the other
was a dreadful mistake and I couldn't put money on which was the issue
So, it was seconds out ... round two!

My journal page
Materials used:
  • One page of my Crawford and Black journal
  • Paper Artsy paints: banana and London bus - applied with a barely moist baby wipe
  • Paper Artsy sentiment (take time .....) and flower border (from JOFY09) stamped using Ranger Archival onyx black ink
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment (Life ....), circle and oval design (by Wendy Vecchi "The Gift of Art" - SCS141) stamped using Versafine Clair tulip red, pinecome and purple delight - which needed to dry before the next step
  • Peerless watercolours used to colour my flower border, aided by a waterbrush

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. More Mixed Media - August challenge - ANYTHING (mixed media) GOES + (optional) BRIGHT

Saturday .... it's the weekend, what's occurrin'?

Morning readers,

Firstly, let me welcome my latest follower, Sally, thanks so much for following my blog and leaving me a lovely comment, I hope you will stop by again soon.

Well, there I was ....... sat in my lounge positively ITCHING to use new stash on a journal page and .... next thing I knew this had happened - sleep crafting!? Whatever next? Aside from the chevrons and a background stencil, ALL of the images were from the same set of new stash! Woo Hoo! I love to ink up new stash before it makes it to the drawer - don't you?

My Artist Trading Card
Materials used:
  • Two snippets of 300gsm white card, cut to 2½" x 3½" - to give a rigid form to my ONE LAYER ATC
  • On one of my  pieces of white card I lightly brushed Memento London fog over the entire ATC then, using an Aldi stencils brush, brushed the same ink through two sections (diamonds/triangles) of my Dutchdoobadoo stencil (470.715.129)
  • Stamps  used: StudioLight SL363 and Creative Expressions CEC851 (Inspired Edges" - I LOVE this new set and also the Creative Expressions chevron image which hasn't been off an acrylic block now in MONTHS!)

My Journal page
Materials used:
  • One page of my Crawford and Black journal page
  • Water spritzed over the page
  • Brushos sprinkled and page tipped to spread, until I was happy with the way it looked
