Monday and another week begins .....

Morning readers

I've a make to share with you today .... it was recently the "special" birthday of a dear friend (and one of my best card purchasing customers) so I simply had to make her a special card for her birthday - she should have had it by now so I feel I can share it with you.

My card
And a closer view
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • Card panels, cut to fit, in: pink, white and black
  • Cerise pink glitter washi tape
  • Using low tack tape to hold my image panel in place, I applied Distress Ink in picked raspberry to the lower half and wilted violet to the top - using a makeup brush.
  • Adding my Dutchdoobadoo stencil (470.715.120) I applied the same inks through the stencil but adding my picked raspberry over the wilted violet and my wilted violet over the picked raspberry.
  • Woodware sentiment (FRS Deco Sayings) and Penny Black Iris image (from "Allegra") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Stardust stickles to bling up the iris
  • A quick application of sealant to protect the water based inks in transit
  • Using an art deco font and similar colour scheme I computer generated the sentiment for the insert

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. TCP - challenge No.365 - STENCIL
  2. CardzTV - challenge No. 107 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Your Next Stamp - challenge No. 132 - CREATE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND
  4. Love To Craft Challenge Blog - challenge No. 43 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Brown Sugar - challenge No. 298 - ANYTHING GOES

And now for a small batch (just two) of anniversary cards .... I really loved the basic layout I did just after Christmas so these are "the same but different" in that I changed the colour and image and used adhesive gemstones instead of stickles, dimensional foam instead of a matting layer .... see what you think

My card
The front, back and inside of my cards along with the front and back of my envelopes
Materials used:
  • Two 6" square, 250gsm cards and matching sized envelopes
  • Two pieces of white card (per card) cut to fit
  • Sentiments from Picture This ("love and pride" and "happy days" stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Inkadinkado heart image (from 97637 "hearts") stamped using Versafine Clair tulip red ink
  • Image panel adhered to the card blank using dimensional foam tape
  • Tiny faux crystal gemstones affixed to the "dots" on the heart

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Mod Squad - February 5th challenge - YOU'RE ALL HEART
  2. Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday challenge - WITH LOVE
  3. The House That Stamps Built - challenge No. 520 - HEARTS
  4. Pattie's Creations - challenge No. 167 - LOVE, LOVE LOVE
  5. Dare2BArtsy - February challenge - LOVE IS IN THE AIR
And the original? Also matched the heart colour to the matting layer ...... I don't know which style I like the best, I LOVED the colour and grunginess of the one below but am also loving the bling and pop of colour of the above project.

I also attended a joint birthday party at the weekend, it was a hoot and a half - with good food thrown in, though not literally! Thanks peeps

I love the stencilling and pretty mix of pink and purple on this card Kathy, and the sentiment framing the beautiful blingy pink heart is a great design too and an equally lovely look to the purple one I think. Glad the birthday celebrations went well too. x

Lovely cards - like the way you used large
sentiments around the card and then added
a nice heart in the middle. Thank you for
joining us at Pattie's Creasion Design Challenge.
