Midweek and it's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday ..

Morning all,

Well, after a GORGEOUS Bank Holiday weekend, what a change yesterday was? Crikey, woke to dull and grey mind you, it was just typical of the day I had planned .. a trip to the tip, then to a charity shop ..... we'd been having a bit of a clear out! And our day of domesticity was rounded off with a trip to the grocery store, had to be done as we'd guests due to join us for dinner and it would have been rude not to have any food in! Thankfully, dinner went really well and food was tasty .. I don't cook so I really do have it cushy but, shh, don't tell my hubby!

Managed a little time at my ToC but this card was not without trauma, I thought I was going to be doing something clever with masking but .... it turned in to an absolute disaster when my mask moved. I tried to fix it but .... it was no good, the snow melted! har har! This was plan B instead and I hand drew the rolling hills and clump of trees (be nice people, I make no claims to being an artist) instead. How I LOVE this Raymond Briggs snowman

• Two pieces of 300gsm white card cut to 12cm square
• Crafters Companion snowman image stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
• Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour snowman, snow and skyscape
• MFT "Merry" and "Christmas" sentiments (from their hand lettered Holiday set) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
• MFT "snowflakes" stamped using Memento Paris dusk ink which I also used to edge the  panel
• Stardust stickles

Morning all,

Hope you are all enjoying your Bank Holiday weekend - well, it IS in the U.K.. And, what a surprise about the weather? It often rains at public holiday time so it was so nice to look out on this yesterday morning!

The year is zipping by so fast that, despite the sunny weather, I thought I should really crack on with my Christmas cards so it will come as no surprise to see the project below! This was a pretty simple design and COULD end up as a batch card if I run short come November, always good to have a backup plan!

Materials used:

• White C6/A2, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
• Two pieces of 300gsm white card, cut to 14.2cm x 10cm
• Snippets of card in shades of green (taken from the DCWV Mat Stacks)
• Inkadinkado snowflake stamped using Versamark ink and then heat embossed using WOW! white puff twinkle embossing glitter
• Recollections holly border stamped using Ranger Archival ink in library green (I love how this looks in the green). 
• Paper Artsy sentiment (JOFY17) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
• I also used the library green ink to edge the white base panel for my card before attaching to my card blank using dimensional foam tape

I like how this turned out (loving that green ink), CAS despite the image panel consisting of three layers.

Hi there,

Had a good week? I have .. though I'm thinking I need a new craft knife - any recommendations?

Yesterday was Rudolph Day and I published a blog post .... having totally forgotten about it. Needless to say, yesterday afternoon I set to making a Christmas card. I stamped a holly panel and started assembling the background, I stamped the lovely (IMHO) holly border and ..... BAZINGA! I realised the image panel really sucked! So, it was on to Plan B. I am really liking the crisp green holly border so be prepared to see it again between now and Christmas! (you have been warned!)

• White C6/A2, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
• Two pieces of white card cut to 13.7cm x 9.5cm
• One piece of striped DCWV paper from the winter stack, cut to mat with a 1.6mm border
• Snippets of card in white, deep green and red - for my image panel
• Recollections holly border stamped using Ranger Archival library green ink
• Recollections candy cane image stamped using Versafine satin red ink
• Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour the image and background before matting first on to white, then deep green and finally red
• Paper Artsy sentiment (from JOFY17) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
• Stardust stickles to highlight ribbon and holly berries

And now .. for my next card .... the challenge was to use an actual object. Hmm, since going CAS I don't tend to keep much in the way of embellishments anymore. I had a rummage and initially thought of stamps but, I found this sad looking MM button (having been part of a pack of 6 and the last one left!) and an idea formed. It was nice to use such old stash too, even the stamps had been hanging around languishing in the drawer!

• Two pieces of white 300gsm card cut to 13.7cm x 9.5cm
• Fiskars clear stamps (which I've had for so long I even had to mount some of them on cushion foam!) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
• Faber Castell polychromos pencils to colour
• Lime green button (which had adhesive on the back - had that so long too, that I had to use glue to attach!! Since going CAS I've drastically reduced my use of embellishments)
• Dimensional foam tape to attach my image panel to my base card - tape I've been trying hard to use since 1993!!! It's really been a card to use old stock

Friday post and the start of another weekend ..

Morning all,

Hope you've had a good week, we've had all sorts of weather and commitments so I would say that my week has been "interesting" but I've booked a few days away visiting a crafting pal who's a bit poorly, so I'm looking forward to seeing her. Hubby will be staying home and taking the opportunity to catch up on a few things without me as a distraction!

I managed to hit the ToC (that's Table of Craftiness) earlier this week and I've a jolly little card to share with you ....

• Two pieces of card cut to 12cm square (one white and one DCWV textured deep red)
• One piece of ochre DCWV textured card cut to 11.5cm square
• One piece of white card cut to 11cm square
• Snippets of card in the deep red, ochre, white and Bo Bunny striped card
• Using a Martha Stewart (PATP set) punch I cut the snippet of deep red in to a border
• Studio 490 stem and flower head (from The Gift of Art SCS141) stamped using Ranger Atchival minis in paradise teal and monarch orange
• Precious Remembrance Shop sentiment (from NEW DAY set) stamped using Memento tuxedo black
• Stardust stickles to highlight

• Stardust stickles used to highlight fur and hair and Plaid dimensional gloss for the spectacle lenses and orange nose

On the first day of his show I nipped to The Range and acquired both the card blank used below and the Gorjuss girl image - doncha just love it when you can get to use new SCHTUFF right away?
