Morning all,

Hope your week is going well and that the extra day off didn't throw you off too much. It's been mega warm again this past few days and I don't do "heat" particularly well, so, been struggling to sleep. It doesn't (the heat, that is) appear to have dampened the urge to craft though. I recently made a masterboard using acrylic paints and this make involved using the last little bit - YAY!

Materials used:

• White 300gs, 5" x 7" scallop edged card blank and matching sized envelope
• Snippet of masterboard card
• Snippet of white card to be the insert
• Snippet of bright blue card to mat my image panel
• JOFY12 image and JOFY14 sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
• White signo uniball used to trace the image so it stands out a smidge more against the masterboard panel
• Once the image panel was adhered to my card blank I highlighted using Stardust stickles

A nice quick card and using up a number of snippets, I call that a result! I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

Hope you all had a terrific weekend .... we did AND the weather was kind to us ... re-SULT!

And now ... an ATC for your perusal as I managed to squeak in a little crafting yesterday ...

Materials used:

• ATC blank
• Snippet of black card
• Snippet left over from a recent masterboard using acrylic paints/Stampers Anonymous images
• Shrink plastic on to which I stamped the Stampotique image using Ranger Archival jet black ink and coloured using Sharpie markers before heat shrinking
• Crackle Accents applied to masterboard panel and set aside to dry
• Once dry I rubbed Ranger Archival jet black ink in to the cracks and wiped the excess off using a baby wipe - which gave an altogether grungier feel to the otherwise pretty perky masterboard!
• Having adhered the crackle panel to my black matting layer I doodled a border around the outside using a white gelly roll pen
• Attached my shrink plastic image using Cosmic Shimmer glue before adding the Fiskars sentiment using Ranger Archival jet black ink

Since it was a Bank Holiday yesterday AND (somewhat uncharacteristically) a nice day, the husband and I decided to go out for a drive in the sunshine and take some air and a little exercise

• 10cm square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
• Two pieces of white card cut to 9cm square
• Two snippets of card (left over from yesterday's make) cut ot mat with a 1.6mm border
• Lavinia image (NBUS) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
• Sharpie markers used to colour
• CAS-ual Fridays sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
• Plaid dimensional gloss to highlight the circles

Welcome to Saturday and a challenge post ...

Morning 

I hear the weather is set to change for this Bank Holiday weekend - well, colour me surprised ... NOT!!! We live close to several very congested motorways so we seldom plan to go anywhere this weekend, we're practically gridlocked from mid morning Friday to mid afternoon Monday! More time to craft, if you ask me!

Speaking of which, on to my first make .... it turned out to be almost "CUTE" been a while since I've done cute - thanks to the ladies from LIM, sometimes good to ring the changes!

Materials used:

• 10cm square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
• Two pieces of 200gsm white card cut to 9cm square
• Two pieces of 200gsm bright blue card, cut to mat with a 1.6mm border
• Magenta peel off placed and then coloured using peerless water colour paints
• Hampton Art sentiment stamped using Bahama blue ink
• JOFY circles stamped using dandelion ink
• For the envelope and rear of the card I used a Personal Impressions leave stamp as I didn't have that many peel offs

1. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 291 - RECIPE WEEK ... to use a sticker, sticky label or peel off ... oo-er missus! This was nearly VERY tricky as I disposed of all bar one of my peel offs when decorating in 2015!!!!

3. Colour Crazy - challenge No. 20 - ANYTHING (hand coloured) GOES

Materials used:

• White A6/A2, 300gsm card blank and matching sized envelope
• Two pieces of white card, cut to 13 x 9½cm
• Two pieces of red card, cut to mat with a 1.6mm border
• Snippet of white card on to which I stamped my All Night Media Santa hat using Adirondack watermelon ink
• Plaid dimensional gloss and glamour dust used to decorate the hat before setting it aside to dry!
• Dimension's gorilla image stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
• Background coloured using Pro Markers - blue pearl and pastel blue
• Paper Artsy splatter image stamped off once before printing using Ranger Archival cobalt blue ink
• Stardust stickles used to highlight the larger "snowflakes!
• Sentiment printed from computer run through my Xyron sticker maker and then matted

Welcome to the official start of the weekend! ... and the Friday Funny

Morning all,

What a change in the weather? Still hot and sticky but cooler than the day before and MISTY all day, had to turn the lights on around 14:30!!!

I needed to make a gift card holder for some dinner show tickets for a friend celebrating his 60th birthday ...... he has an awesome sense of humour so I was pretty sure I could get away with the cheeky sentiment too!. Not only that but I had recently seen some awesome masterboards on-line and wanted to see if I could combine that, and some new stash .... here's how it evolved

My finished masterboard card

Materials used: for the masterboard

• White 200gsm A4 card (Rymans)
• White gesso applied to the card
• Fresco paints: Banana*, Bora Bora* South Pacific*. Ranger acrylic dabber in pearl, applied with a brayer
• Tim Holtz woodgrain stencil used with Ranger pearl acrylic and a piece of cut and dry
• That Special touch squares stencil* brayered with Bora Bora* and both the positive and negative used
• Stamposaurus stencil (small squares) and South Pacific paint* applied with a piece of cut and dry foam
• Seth Apter images stamped using Hobbycraft white and Daler Rowney blue acrylic paints before setting aside to fully dry

Materials used: for the card

• CAS-ual Fridays WTF, ? and sentiment + Happy Little Stampers numbers stamped with Ranger Archival ink
• I obviously didn't want to reproduce the same image inside the card (as this is where the dinner show tickets will be) or on the envelope so used the Anita's sentiment, stamping it with Ranger Archival jet black ink

Here's how it went from a piece of white A4 card to a masterboard and on to a card

Gesso followed by brayered layers of acrylic paint

Followed by some stencilling with acrylic paint

Shows the white stencilling a little better

And then some stamping with acrylic paint

Looks like I have plenty left for more cards and an ATC ... yep! I was right ......

Not bad, four cards AND an ATC from one piece of A4 masterboard
you would hardly believe how little waste there was either!

Welcome to Rudolph Day

Morning peeps.

I know I don't normally post on a Thursday but I DO like to participate in Rudolph Day and this month that's on a Thursday ... this was a really quick card to make but there was drying time involved with both the paint and the stickles - nice for a change though, AND it's another Christmas card towards my 2016 quota - YAY!

Materials used:

• 10cm square white, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
• Two pieces of white card cut to 8½ cm square
• Two pieces of black card cut to 9.1cm square
• I brayered Luna lights and Ranger dabber in pearl over one panel of white card and allowed it to dry
• Once dry Chocolate Baroque snowflake and My Favourite Things sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
• Stardust stickles to highlight, including tracing the sentiment to really twinklify it!
