Happy "Hump Day" - also known as Wednesday!

Morning readers,

Today's make ... some more scrapbooking layouts, I've really enjoyed getting back in to it and look forward to getting some more involved layouts done as I ease back in to it again. This one records a party in a restaurant to celebrate a milestone birthday - Yee Haa! Think I should be "up to date" about now, just in time for Christmas!

Materials used:

  • 2 x 12" x 12" sheets of linen textured deep red card
  • Washi tape from Aall & Create and Michaels
  • Computer generated journalling
  • Photos printed off from my computer
  • Inkadinkado sentiment and numbers (from 60-31318) stamped using Versamark embossing powder, sprinkled with Funstamps white embossing powder and then heat set
  • White Posca paint pen for doodling borders around the photos

And, having just recently returned from Florida, I have some pix to share with you, some of which may even find their way in to a scrap layout ... soon-ISH!, like this outing to the town of Celebration - on one of the cooler days, so lovely to walk around the lake and to stop for a frapuccino! Followed by a quick browse of the shops ...

Some interesting meals too .. we went to the strangely named "Sickies Garage" and had a very tasty meal. I opted for the hot roast beef sandwich, served with mashed potato and smothered in brown gravy - looked a little odd but was actually VERY tasty

TGIF what a shame NOT it's a Bank Holiday weekend - Woo Hoo!

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ... something I haven't been doing for a while ... scrap booking. I hadn't realised that I didn't scrap my 2023 vacation or Christmas 2023, which passed in a blur as we were both poorly, these are occasions I would normally scrap but didn't, I Iet myself get out of the habit! So, here's a double layout catch up, from October 2023, surprisingly, NO STAMPING! I may get round to doing Gainesville (or not), from early 2024, and I HOPE that Christmas 2024 will be a much livelier affair than 2023!

Both pages side by side and, below
each page separately

Materials used:

  • Two pieces of 12" x 12" Designer Paper
  • Various photos, printed off
  • Journalling which I generated on the computer
  • Double sided tape
  • Posca pen and Tsukineko gelly roll gel pen - both white, for doodling my borders round the photos
  • Map and postcard ephemera

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

  1. Paper Funday - challenge No. 68 - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) VACATION/SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Friday and the weekend is rapidly approaching!

Morning readers,

Hope you've all had a good week, mine's been a week of two halves, Monday and Thursday were very sociable - Tuesday and Wednesday pretty quiet ... particularly since hubby was out all day Tuesday and Wednesday! Still, some weeks are like that and it's always lovely to see friends, isn't it? Met friends for dinner yesterday, lovely evening and a delicious meal too - today I'm leaving my husband in charge of some deliveries whilst a friend and I visit a local herb farm!

I've a make to share with you today ....... an Artist Trading Card, measuring just 3½" x 2½"

My "Beach" themed ATC

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in white and navy
  • Stamping Up image (from around 2004 so I have no idea of the set details) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Crayola pencils (A set of 50 + special edition skintones - 2023 NBUS) used to colour
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment (from THMM113 - 2023 - NBUS) stamped on to a narrow snippet of white card, using Versafine Clair warm breeze ink and then edged using a black sharpie before mounting with gorilla dimensional tape

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. NBUS - challenge No. 51 - USE NBUS
  2. Penny's Paper Crafty - challenge No. 547 - ANYTHING GOES

No holiday snaps today, just a scrapbook layout .... yes, of my recent vacation! It's a double page layout. I've taped the two sheets together and then inserted the local guidebook between the two pages.

With my pull out map and photos

With the map folded, so you can see the other side

And my second, co-ordinating page

Materials used:
  • Two sheets of identical designer paper, taped together
  • Computer generated prints of my photos, with journalling beneath
  • Journalling printed off, to give context to our trip
  • Tourist guide book and map - very useful in case we wish to visit again!
  • Double sided tape, to attach my photos
Now, as I'm back to my normal routine but ... I DO have a couple of pix to share, of a recent walk in the glorious sunshine, both pix just made me smile

Loved this cheeky bird, resting on the wall of the local pond

Poppies just growing on the grass verge

Saturday, what WILL the weekend bring?

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ....... thought it was high time some of my brusho's saw the light of day .. I made my colour selection and .... yep, you guessed it ....  YET another Christmas card crept into my imagination - I was powerless to resist!

My 3½" x 4⅞" card

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, 3½" x 4⅞" card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and Christmas red, for my card front, insert and matting
  • I spritzed my card front panel with water before sprinkling brusho's in brilliant red and white over, allowing it to spread a bit before setting aside to dry
  • Stampers Anonymous sentiment (from THMM156 - Oct 2022) and Stampers Anonymous image (from THMM155 - Oct 2022) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Crystal stickles to give my card a little sparkle
  • Finally, given brusho's are water based, I gave my card front a quick spritz with Crafters Companion spray and shine - to protect in transit

I swear however, I've done it more recently than something I unearthed! Turns out I had some pix and ephemera for a scrap layout of a city break in Barcelona sitting at the bottom of said filing tray .... a trip we took in 2019!!! OMGoodness! Needless to say, this is simply by way of a backstory to the layouts below!!! Well, I did recently say that I wanted to get back in to scrap booking and this was THE perfect excuse to crack on and get a couple done!

TGIF - the first Friday 13th of the year

Morning readers,

I'm hoping none of you are superstitious ..... if so, my apologies for drawing it to your attention.

Had a lovely catch up with a pal on Wednesday - we met for lunch, I booked a table, we rocked up, restaurant CLOSED!!! They were most apologetic when they finally opened, apparently no-one had actually checked the bookings and they "decided" to open later!! Not happy but ... my pal and I amused ourselves at a nearby B&M ..... where we acquired craft goodies. Lunch, when it arrived was very nice and my pal and I thoroughly enjoyed our catch up, time flew - we met at 11 and, before we knew it, it was gone 4pm! Thanks Amanda - see you next time, in your neck of the woods.

My pearl water colours and glitter markers!

I've a pair of makes to share with you today ....... spookily enough - NO STAMPING on this project. It's a couple of scrap layouts recording our Christmas break. Long story short, I ordered a refillable advent calendar (house shaped, with drawers) from The Works and then ordered some double sided Christmas paper from Amazon, to decorate it ... in itself a sound plan. However, when the advent calendar arrived, it was already decorated!! Noooooo, what ever shall I do with the Christmas paper? Cue a scrap layout using two of the double sided sheets - YAY!

Materials used:
  • 2 Sheets of Designer Christmas paper, from Amazon
  • Computer printed photos and journaling
  • Hampton Arts Christmas tree die
  • Snippets of green card (for die cutting)

  1. Love to Craft - challenge No. 72 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Challenge YOUrself - challenge No. 109 - A LAYOUT OF 2022 (must include a photo of self within) - check ... layout 1 of 2

And now for a thank you card .... I was recently lucky enough to win four stamps as a prize over at the Snippets playground, one of which was a thank you sentiment and another the floral image used below too - seemed appropriate that I should crack the seal and make a thank you card ...

My 3½" x 4⅞" card
