Here we are then, the mid point of another week!

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ... it's another batch of Christmas cards. So, there I was, thinking I was back on target ... until a friend said that she would like half a dozen or so, and I find myself playing catch up again. I've no idea which designs she will want so, I'm making another batch - just to up numbers!

One of the batch of six C6 cards

My batch of six all lined up!

Materials used:

  • 6 x White, 250gsm, C6 cards and envelopes
  • 6 each of card in white and red, for my card fronts, inserts and matting
  • Stamplorations tree (from "Oh Christmas Tree") stamped using Versafine Clair shady lane ink, sprinkled with holographic embossing powder, excess shaken off and then heat set ... sadly, the sparkly EP doesn't show well in the photo
  • Stamplorations paint smear (from "Holiday Artsy") stamped using Versafine Clair tulip red ink
  • Stamplorations sentiment (from "Holiday Artsy") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

  1. Simply Clean And Simple - September challenge - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) SIGNS OF FALL
  2. Krafty Chicks - challenge No. 733 - CHRISTMAS
  3. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 284 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. My Time To Craft - challenge No. 542 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. ABC of Christmas - September challenge - "S" is for STENCILS and/or "T" is for TRADITIONAL COLOURS
Well, here we are, in the middle of September ... hubs and I took a bus ride in to town recently ... with coats (well, the forecast wasn't overly promising)! Fortunately, mine was small enough to roll up and place in my backpack as it was SO WARM and sunny too, we concluded our business and then pottered about a bit, stopped at a watering hole, mooched about a bit more before stopping for dinner. On the bus home again but we stopped off - for dessert!! Lovely semi-impromptu afternoon/evening and so NICE to get back to it too, my knee is much improved over time, allowing us to try this trip. Can't wait for the next one! And my coat? Stayed in the backpack!

The first watering hole
Look at the blue in that sky!
The dessert venue!
In contrast, a friend and I decided to take a trip to the local re:use shop as she had bought some bedlinen she decided against using ... brand new just not in its packaging. We set off with the best of intentions, to do a 26 mile round trip involving a pit stop in a new (to us) coffee shop. Well, all I can say is that the traffic was HORRENDOUS and a journey that SHOULD have taken 25 minutes each way actually took a smidge over two hours!!! OMG!! At every turn we were faced with temporary traffic lights and huge queues, some of them longer than a mile (could have been two - we never saw the end of one of them)!!! FORTUNATELY re:use were delighted to take the sheets - just imagine if all that had been for NOTHING!!!! A shame we never made it to our planned coffee shop, as we ran out of time ... a trip for another day perhaps?
